Dude your perspective is a little distorted, Carl Thompson fought at British and Euro level and got knocked out by tons of relative nobodies, he won the insignificant IBO belt from a 28-14 guy and then got knocked out again on his first defence.
He was barely even Euro championship level

Carl Thompson is a great warrior but he was never a top level contender.

Meehan isnt anything great but he belonged at fringe contender level, he should have got the nod vs Brewster who is a very dangerous HW and hes knocked over Davarryl Williamson who is not fantastic but he was a decent boxer.

I like Carl Thompson but the euro circuit for those crap belts is not the top level

Oh yeah **** I never heard of Eubank :rofl

He was way past it fighting out of his natural weight class, Thompson is a strong fighter who gives it all but he was not a top level contender

You know I thought the very same thing when I saw Danny Williams knock him out in one. I thought, **** me, David Haye will want no part of this guy.

Did your mother get ample compensation from the midwife that dropped you on your head?

Thompson was also a WBO champion, which is a legit heavyweight title. Sure, he wasn't amazing but during his best years he was a top 5 cruiserweight whereas Meehan on his best day was always struggling to crack the top 10.

Either way the point is that Thompson's win over Haye in Haye's 11th fight has no bearing at all on how a Haye-Meehan fight would play out. Haye would bang him out within a maximum of 3 rounds.

Yes I agree that Haye would probably beat Meehan, I already said that and Im on record predicting the Ruiz fight as a mid rounds KO, quite a favourable style for Haye to beat and got him at the tail end of his career. Haye is a good addition to the heavyweight scene but I dont see how he is going to beat the Klits, I see a mid rounds defeat for him

i see haye as the mundine of the heavies.

always promoting that he is the best, complaining that none of the top guys want to fight him, then blaming money for big fights not eventuating etc. etc.

everybody would like him to fight the top guys but doubt that he'd win.

He beat nobodies, then, when he stepped up in comp, he got blasted away. I like his style, though. He is fast, and would make a very exciting fight against Hayemaker. I think he can beat Chagaev. Hope he does, would love to see Haye against this guy.

    Oh really dreamboy?

Out of the horses mouth...(IT DIDNT HAPPEN!):lol:

If all goes to plan and you are successful in defeating Chagaev you will then challenge David Haye… The Englishman has just defended the title successfully against John Ruiz.. Were you impressed with Hayes win… Your thoughts?
David Haye fought well, he has strength and power. I felt for Ruiz but he has had a lot of hard fights and it showed in this fight! But he was just plodding forward throwing one/twos with no head movement, no angles. Haye was always going to win this fight. I cant wait to get to fight Haye for the title. I know I have the goods to beat him.
You worked as sparring partner to Haye in 2009. Tell me about the sparring session.
I worked as a sparing partner for Haye to prepare him for Klitschko. I have read on some boxing sites that I dropped him in the gym. I will be the first to say – this did not happen. We only had three sessions, with about 2-3 rounds per session. I never really try to show too much in sparring, but always look for weaknesses in my opponent or their habits, and I believe I’ve found some in David Haye.

Would Haye’s power be a problem to you?
His power will be a problem for me and my power will be a problem for him! That’s why this will be an exciting fight. But, I know my chin is stronger than his and I believe my will is stronger than his. I’ve been pushed aside, neglected and forgotten, but I’m still here, and God willing, I will be heavyweight champion of the world
Angelo Dundee predicts Hayes will become a outstanding champion and will defeat Wladimir Klitschko… Do you think Angelo overestimates the ability of Haye?
I believe Haye will defeat Klitschko, because he will make Klitschko fight. Not a lot of people will beat Haye in my opinion, but I know I can defeat him, and after I defeat Chagaev I will get the chance! Not a lot of people believe I will beat Chagaev, but I’m confident.
