"It's time to step up to heavyweight and put a bit of life into that **** division,...It's terrible at the moment. You got Klitschko disgracing boxing, you got Samuel Peter nearly getting beaten by McCline. They're supposed to be the two best heavyweights in the world. Heavyweight boxing's a disgrace; it's time for me to finish up where Lennox Lewis left off and clean up the division." I'm dissapointed he's not gonna give Cunningham a shot. However, this guy is hilarious. I couldn't believe he said this on national T.V. Being that he has no credentials at HW, this is a good way to try to bait some of the bigger names into fighting him.
I hope he can beat some good names and build a platform to challenge wlad so when wlad seperates him from his senses it will be a credible win
If you're a unified number 1 challenger in a division Above or Below a weight class, doesn't that qualify you into being able to challenge them? I mean god forbid what are the credentials of all the other heavyweights at the moment? They all suck ass, Might as well give Haye the shot.
I say give Haye a shot, he has as decent chance as anyone else of beating Wlad or Peter, he may be able to throw a top level Heavyweight punch, I doubt he could take one, time will tell.
It qualifies you to be a mandatory or optional defense in the organizations in which you held a belt. Since he never held the IBF belt, he'll probably have to get a couple of wins before he can challenge Wlad for the IBF belt. He'll have a much easier time getting ranked by the WBC and WBA.
Peter will KO Haye early if he punches with him, he will be put to sleep! WLad will dothe same. He has got to show me something at HW, more action less talk Daid Haye.
Haye would certainly pressure Wlad into a real fight where the bombs are thrown , it will be an awsome night when it happens. I back Haye to KO Wlad , Haye will not be a small heavy weight like many seem to think , 6'3 and 225 pounds is just about perfect to have good power and mobility , something the heavys have not seen in some time.
That'll suck if in 2009 the number one heavyweight is even fatter than the current number 2 rated heavyweight.
