Haye isn't even a good heavyweight, IMO - let alone great.

He was a good cruiserweight (again, not great).

Dempsey and Marciano may not stack up well in time machine matches against skilled modern super heavyweights...but they'd certainly hold their own with greats in the division that would be of most comparable size (CW)...and Haye is not quite a great of that division. He was a competent titlist.

Marciano and Dempsey could fight each other and the loser could fight Haye 15 mins later and still knock him cold!!

The point deduction offered a brief glimmer of hope but Haye himself was penalised for going down and given a ludicrous standing count in the 10th when he tumbled again. It left him needing a knockout. It was a knockout that was never going to come.-Sky Sports

yes, he was never getting the knockout
no, the standing 8 was not ludicrous. you dive to the canvas for fear of a punch, you take a count. haye only took ONE count for the six times he dove. the ref was generous

sky sports, you were ****. no you are OFFICIALLY ****. congrats

After watching David Haye...ahem..."fight"...on Saturday...do you still think that John Ruiz is still the worst WBA champ ever???

I would pay a lot of money to see Marciano vs Haye. The Rock would do what Wlad should have done, which is end any chance Haye has of fighting again, ie ruining him.

Haye outboxes and knocks out Dempsey, Marciano I would pick to beat to beat him but I wouldn't say it's a given. Neither of those men do any better against Wlad, both get knocked out. Haye has also already beaten better fighters than Dempsey and just got outboxed by a 240lb 6'7 technical monster, Dempsey got outboxed by a 188lb technical boxer and this man

I think he could beat them too. Like, once in a series of 25.

Brave, brave Sir Haye bravely runs away with such haste, he falls through the ropes.

It's amazing the legacy shift that haye experienced last night. From top 30 to top 200. His inactivity has stopped him having a resume at hw and he lost his big fight so he'll just go down as a good boxer defeated by wlad.

This thread is really ridiculous. As it stands there is zero evidence suggesting haye beats either of these guys.

He was never top30 (he would be if he won) but his wins over Valuev or Ruiz are still as good as any of Dempsey's wins, if you're going to say Haye is unproven you have to say the same about Dempsey

At least Dempsey didn't go to a controversial decision against Willard...
