I hear you scurla, the thing is i myself got up to 210 lbs at 5ft 6/7 when weightlifiting (admittedly a lot of water and fat as well.) but when it came time to cut i got to about 168 ripped with a solid six pack....Now nine years later when i just train for boxing i walked around at about 150 ,and now can make 140 with no ill effects, and in fact i will try just walking around at 140 like the old school boxers did....I surmise this is because i dont lift anymore and i dont eat a bodybuilder type diet with loads of carbs, but the traditional boxers diet of meat and eggs, with maybe some veggies, water only and lots of fish as well.... Anyway, thats my personal experience.....I also feel much healthier, faster, more powerful and more mobile, whilst still feeling very strong and having more muscle/mind connection....

To be honest, this is a little like Brewster - Wladimir I, except even closer(perhaps). Ding is the underdog, obviously.. but he'll get his chances at Haye on the ropes.. because Haye is one of the laziest champions out there, he's lacking that obvious focus to hold his hands up, to not back straight back etc.. Ding would have his crack at Haye's chin, would it be enough? I don't know....

i know haye has freakish power, but is it enough to move ding and his granite chin? the longest this fight goes the more i see ding as the favourite, especially when you take into account haye's stamina issues at CW caused by all the weight loss.

Agreed everyone has differing body types.I only lift about once a week.Never lift heavy and eat whatever i want. I dont take shakes nor any supplements whatsoever and yet my mucsle mass continues to mature and i still stay at the same weight of 230lbs.Our body types are clearly diffrent and this is the key.Being 6ft 1 a good 6 inches taller than yourself means id weigh more naturally.Bearing in mind Haye is taller than me i can certainly understand where he would be coming from. My speed has not dimished in the slightest and if anything has increased. But i guess thats down to "how" you train.

Ding would starch Haye if they ever fought. Heck, it's probably part of why Haye's running off the the HW division.

Unfortunately for him, as soon as he faces a puncher of Ding's calliber up there, he gonna get laid out cold! :nod

Wilson was getting outboxed by that Nwoko guy and has been outpointed by guys much weaker than Haye. It's not like he can just land his bombs at will and Haye is faster and more skilled. Plus Haye has the power to stop anyone, even guys with solid chins like Wilson would feel his power shots.

Cotto's chin seems a lot more solid after he moved up and he's not draining himself so much. Hopefully that same thing will partly cure Haye's apparently poor punch resistance.

the idea is that ding is a different fighter now because he has gotten past health issues that were affecting his performance and sleep problems he had...
he may have been outboxed by Nwodo prior to the knockout, but he had him literally running away from him in fear of being hit again

the idea behind Ding knocking haye out is pretty simple, haye has a questionable chin, ding has a granite chin, haye has a questionable defense and will trade if you can take his shots

when you jumble this togethor in a yahtzee cup and throw it on the table it spells trouble for haye

Scurla and flux, yes the height is also a factor as haye is very tall as well....Really,only haye can properly ascertain if he struggles at cruiser due to weightlifting/diet or whether he genuinely needs to move up....Time will tell, the heavies are a different kettle of fish though if he wants to be undisputed world champ, just look at herbie hide, tremendous power and speed like haye but a questionable chin...However in hayes favour is the fact that maybe like cotto and pac he will get stronger and more resilient as he moves up...

Don't talk **** mate. It is fair enough to say Wilson would win, because he certainly has the tools to be a huge threat to Haye, but it is ****ing disrespectful to suggest Haye is "running off". The guy from the moment he turned pro has been willing to fight anyone and is as honest as they come about his own weaknesses etc.

He has said for a good while now that he is more comfortable at heavyweight and that he feels his power comes more naturally at the higher weight and that he does not lose strength and stamina by draining down.
He also just went to Mormecks backyard and fought for the title in Paris. He has never run from anyone and to go and face even bigger hitters and naturally larger opponents in the heavyweight division is hardly running away from a puncher.

    haye posted here as well.

haye even wore an ESB tshirt at a fight of his.

there was a photo put up the other day of haye at the weigh in of bonin and of mormeck and the difference was very evident.

as was the fact haye put on 16lb from weigh in to fight time.

boiling down does make your legs into jelly if you take it to far.

Haye said he purposely kept lower than he wanted for the Bonin fight as he didn't want to come in at his prime weight since he wouldnt be able to cut down for Mormeck....

Don't talk ****??? :scaredas: Damn, man you're gonna ruin all my fun!! :| Like many boxing fans - and fighters - I talk **** to psych myself up for particular matches, to gain a rooting interest, as it were.

Anyway, be that as it may - perhaps I was a bit hyperbolic in stating that Haye was "running" up to HW to get away from Ding. Really, it was just "talk" nothing more. But here's the bottom line - sure, Wilson would face some skill disadvantages going up against Haye. But Haye has shown, even in his most recent fight - at minimum - a suspect chin. My feeling is that the fight plays out much like Wilson's with Nwodo. He's outworked in most rounds, behind on the cards, and then comes back to take Haye out late.

By the way, I will tell you, that I don't much fancy Haye's chances at HW with the chin he's shown at CW. And you can bet I'll "talk some ****" about it too!

Zakman, you're an intelligent man and you know your **** when it comes to boxing, but do you reallly believe that?

David Haye is a class above Darnell Wilson and im not trying to disrespect Ding here. The man is a solid fighter with a huge punch but Haye is a class above.

Read my response above - I think Haye's chin is seriously suspect and Ding is the man who would expose it. Now, could Haye win?? Sure - IF he were able to avoid taking a clean, solid punch from Wilson all night. I just don't think that's gonna happen. If a - comparatively - light-hitter like Mormeck could deck Haye, Ding finishes him.

Sometimes, being a "class above" in terms of skill isn't enough. You HAVE to be able to take major league shots. I can't imagine that even Haye's fans are fully confident he can do that.

And like I said, I don't fancy Haye's chances at HW. As soon as he faces a top guy who can hit, he will be badly knocked out.

The hype about Haye is still really incredible. Haye moves well in the ring and he has real boxing skills but he is far to be a master boxer. Remember that with his youth, his reach and his size he was unable to outbox or outjab Mormeck who was 2 or 3 points ahead at the time of the stoppage. About his chin Haye proved he has heart (normal for an hungry challenger) but he also admitted he was in big trouble. Mormeck is strong but he not such a big puncher at cruiser, he has always been a methodical destructor : problem for him is that you need stamina for that and his stamina is now very limited...
Haye is in his prime but don't overrate him. He is the man at cruiser cause he beat the number 1 but don't be blink : Mormeck had already faded in terms of motivation, speed, stamina. He had prepared seriously but he was far to be hungry. Loss or win he knew he could cash against Tiozzo with ot without the belts. He did his job but it was clear he was not ready to die in the ring to obtain the win. Haye has a 1st excellent victory but it's only ONE victory : he needs to confirm that and it doesn't mean he is now invincible.
Haye is not ready for the top guys of the HW division. I don't know if Wilson is skilled enough to land the hook Mormeck landed but he hits probably much harder, he would be far more hungry than Mormeck and he has at least the puncher's chance.
