 Are you kidding??? Lewis was a bit cautious but Wlad is whole another level when Lewis outboxed you he was going for KO while Wlad just continues to box without even trying seriously to KO Haye, there is huge difference between Wlad and Lennox mentality, its total bull**** to say Lewis would box like Wlad did.
Lennox destroyed Golota and thats something Wlad newer did no matter how bad his opponent is, even when Wlad faced shot to **** cruiserweight Mormeck he did not totally open up like Lennox did vs Golota, Wlad just doesnt have that in him he is safety first fighter and he constantly has his KO losses on his mind, he fights that way its like even he believes his chin is worse than it really is!!

I agree, even when Lennox got KO'd against McCall & Rahman he still wasn't afraid to risk his chin unlike Wlad.

Wlad looks great against outmatched opponents who have no answer to his jab-jab-grab, which eventually turns into jab-right-grab, then maybe a KO somewhere in the second half of the fight. Klitards fail to understand that all the ATGs had far more to their game than Wlad will ever have despite not being 6' 7" and in shape, and why Klitschko critics such as myself rate Vitali way above him H2H. Wlad is probably the most one dimensional HW champion in modern times and he's just awful to watch.

As for Lewis v Haye, Haye would never have stepped up to HW if Lewis was still around.

Wlad dominated HW division where fat middleweight James Toney had sucess and middleweight Chris Byrd held a title. Shot CW Mormek couldn't get a fight to save his life but managed to fit the criteria to fight the worst unifed HW champ in existence.

Good post, especially the point about the battle of the jabs, even if and it is a massive if Wlad was winning that particular battle, Lewis would merely switch it up and brawl.

This guy who sparred both says Wlad hit harder and was quicker: Wladimir Klitschko hit me by far the hardest, though. I couldn't get past the jab, and his right hands hit like thunder. They reminded me of Lewis', but they were quicker and sharper. Wladimir staggered me regularly in sparring. There are literally whole rounds I don't remember. He also knocked me out with a left hook. Not down, out. Only time in my life I've seen canvas and not been able to stand up by 10 seconds."

Harder, faster, sharper. Lewis fans need a reality check.

I remember he also said he sparred Wlad at a much advanced age mentioning his punch resistance and reflexes were diminished understandably since sparring Lewis early in his career. He also mentioned Lewis finishes Wladimir with an uppercut.

Lewis improved as his career went on, so the weight that slowed his movement, was the weight that physically made him stronger, made him less fragile. I didn't say his punches weren't sharp, just that Wlad is a sharper puncher. Lewis was getting outjabbed by Bruno, it's not impossible that he just tries to heavy artillery Wlad by given his career as a whole it's not the most likely tactic. Lewis is tougher than Wlad but not to the degree where he is going to turn this in to a trench war from the onset. It will be cagey, that is the mentality of both of the fighters. It's a hard fight to pick because of the way they both fight and the fact that both can be hurt.

The only point being, he was cautious enough not to just walk someone down who carries Haye's level of explosive power. Complete lack of realism on here in regards to Lewis, he was criticized all of his career for the same things that Wlad get criticized for. Admittedly not to the same degree, but Wlad is one of the most cautious fighters that i have ever seen, so that's not saying much.

The tactic Wlad used against Haye was designed together by Steward/Wlad.

Steward would most likely have used the same strategy if we had replaced Wlad with Lewis.

Constantly coming forward feinting and keeping Haye in the corner.
The reason Haye could still stand was his own defense prowess

Also Golota had a mental breakdown and was hazy from an injection against tenditis in his knee.
I don't really think anybody could have defeated Lewis that night, but many could have beaten Golota then.

Also Lewis charging Golota was also because Steward said he had to because Golota is unstable.

If this 2 round comment was the start of some (perhaps manufactured) bad blood between the two which lead to a fight- that would be a huge fight. I could almost image it too. Lewis was smart to retire, but it seems like he's never truly come to terms with the idea of being retired. I reckon he still thinks he's the number 1 heavyweight in the world- or at least still capable of mixing with the best. Haye? I think he'd leap on the opportunity. He's about money, and he'd hardly be scared of fighting Lennox Lewis now, in 2013
