I have seen a handful of his fights, mostly his most recent ones. Haye is an exciting fighter, I will give him that, as good as his reflexes are, when you keep your hands so low, your asking to be caught. Time will tell what Haye becomes, but he will not be the savior of the Heavyweight division, he's good, but he's not that good.

I think Peter would overwhelm David with his size and strenght.

    Peter by KO.

He still put those combinations together against a guy that I'm assuming can take harder punches than Haye, despite Oleg's track record.

Fact is, a couple of bombs from Sam Peter may put Haye to sleep.

Haye needs to prove to me that he can box a solid 12 rounds before he steps in the ring with Peter.

If he goes in there with the mentality that he's going to knock Peter out, he may gas out, become mentally weak, and then be put to sleep in the later rounds.

Man, he's a prospect. Give him a little time to develop. He's not there yet. No need to push him in with with lions.

I understand your POV. It's entirely possible he could get sparked out his first fight at heavyweight.

It's my opinion that he won't. He recovers well and has the experience of coming off the deck.

The key to his success is going to be his tremendous jab its lethal

Fair points, heavyweight is a bit more chess-like than cruiserweight he should be more comfortable with the pace

While your right about the recovering well part, but he's getting hit by cruisers who are good bit smaller than him from what I seen, aside from maybe Thompson. I just dont see him handling other fighters power well, if he's getting knocked down by cruisers, it's a good indication he may be getting knocked out by Heavyweights. I heard he may be fighting Rahman, that should be an interesting test for him.

I've seen James Toney put flat on his ass by a middleweight with only 25 KO's in 52 fights. Yet Peter was not able to KO him. When guys fight at lower weights they are sometimes weaker and they get stronger when they move up. They are also harder to hit than the bigger slow guys that peter is used to fighting.

I would seriously favor Haye over Peter.

If you think Haye is hard to hit you obviously haven't seen the Fragomeni fight. I thought he was gonna lose that one until he found the big punches.

I think Haye beats Peter on skill alone but Wlad wipes the floor with him I'm afraid.

Haye is making boxers who are vastly better punchers look stupid with his defence. Maccarinelli, for all his faults, is a fast puncher. Look at how well Haye slipped and countered him. It would be exactly the same with Peter. Now look at how many boxers with inferior defence to Haye Peter has hit clean in the last few years. He has awful accuracy against guys with no defence.

Power is only usefuly when a punch lands. Peter would have **** on Haye.

    Haye UD12.

Whatever the case, the 2 styles, so wildly different, would not make for a boring fight. each would have something to prove.

    sam peter: around 245 pounds
    david haye: around 210 pounds

i mean it's no valuev/barrett, but still a noteable difference.
    i would bet on Haye.

Irländsk - love the avatar. any idea what RDJ is up to?

If that's true how did Fragomeni find the target so often?
