No dominating the divsion below , KOing Bonin in seconds , KOing Barret and beating the MUUUCH bigger Valuev are what make a top HW. On a level with Wlad and Vitlai ? No, but still a top Heavy.

You're being so selective , that's like saying Wlad is utter pish becasue he got knocked out by three journeymen. Its only part of the picture.

Or Vitali is no-one because the best fighter he ever beat was Sam Peter , again half the picture.

Agree. The main thing is to learn the right from a loss. Wlad did it.

And i hope Wlad and Haye will fight together.

Exactly jisi Wlad is twice the fighter he was , after the back to back losses ( Fabio Molina aside , I think that was the guys name ). He learned , he grew , he became something else . Even if I wish he was still more like the guy who smashed Mercer to bits, he wins !

Picking one ( or even a few ) performances is an unfair way to judge fighters.

Absolutly right. You can learn more by a loss than by an easy win. And Haye learned the lession too. He fights a smart fight against Valuev and won. Besides the Klitschkos he is a very interesting guy in the heavyweight division. I hope he will win in good way against Ruiz.

    No question !

I hope so too but outside of David Tua and Roy Jones I cant think of anyone who has won in "good style " against Ruiz.

Anyhoo late 2010 , the Munich Olympisatadion , David , Waldimir .......oooooooohh I'm getting the chills !!!!

Two cruiserweight (a then limited division no-one cares about) title fights (1 against glass jawed Enzo Mac who is utter crap and 1 against an old Mormeck who put him on his ass)....a KO over Bonin (who??? oh yeah a guy that had a nice record built up fighting Polish bums) and a KO of Barrett (the guy Wlad bounced off the canvas 5 times 10 years ago, the guy Valuev even managed to bounce off the canvas a few times, not to mention Cliff Couser and Solis KTFO'ing him) and eeking out a win against a limited paper title holder Nico Valuev that even an ancient 46 year old Holyfield managed to beat even if Holy got robbed.

That makes a top heavyweight for you? Sorry but I have higher standards than that.

I'm not getting into Vitali and Wlad here, it's not relevant to the topic at hand. There's plenty other threads debating their accomplishments.

By your own admission, Haye is not on the level with Wlad and Vitali. Wlad and Vitali are the top heavies. Therefore, Haye is not a top heavy. Not until he gets in the ring and beats one of them.

Fair enough then I'll decide that my criteria for top heavyweight preclude anyone who has been knocked out my fat , semi retired golfers.

Oh **** that means Wlad can't be a top heavy anymore , OH NO !!!

    :patsch

Dude if you're gonna take hours to reply , do better than that eh ?

Picking holes in resumes is easy !

Does he deserve to be ranked alongside those two ? not yet

Is he as good as , or better than anyone esle out there ? no problem at all.

I guess that's why you choose to do so to avoid the points I made about Haye and to talk about Wlad (who isn't even the topic of the thread, and I didn't bring up)

I covered Hayes last 5 fights covering 3 years. Hardly picking holes. That's like saying I'll decide that my criteria for top heavyweight preclude anyone who has been knocked out by former super middleweights. Haye won't be a top heavyweight until he beats one, however getting rid of Ruiz will be a step in the right direction.

If you're gonna reply, come up with a relevant argument. You talk about looking at the whole picture, but the thing is....we don't have the whole picture on Haye as a heavy yet. Or maybe we do, if running from 2 top heavies and all night against Valuev is any indication.

I won't be waiting here for your reply, I have a life and I hope you don't mind and won't be hurt if I don't get back to you instantly should you want to continue the discussion.

Here we go with the nuthugger talk because I don't agree with you.

Danny Williams had proven his worth, Nope. Warren is a promoter that is able to get title shots for his fighters, simple as that.

Would Danny have beat Valuev. I don't think so but he'd have a chance I guess. Difference is Haye has already done it.
