No I just pointed out he hasnt fought for a IBF title at Crusierweight or Heavyweight. He's only had 5 world title fights !!!
David Haye is a very exciting fighter. I always try to watch every fight of his, knowing that it's likely someone is getting knocked out, but... He's a businessman more than a fighter. He's not someone who really cares a great deal about legacy. He hasn't had many fights in his career, he now fights only twice a year and will retire next year. Will he fight a Klitschko? Maybe, maybe not. Does he want to fight a Klitschko? Maybe, maybe not. I don't think he really gives a **** about the fans. He's not like Bernard Hopkins who fights because he just loves to fight, and because he wants to seal his legacy. He doesn't care about the fans the way Manny Pacquiao does who always wants to make sure the fans get value for money. He's not one of those people who will take on all the toughest challenges the way Carl Froch does. As a fighter, he's very easy to watch, but very difficult to support. He's just not fan friendly. As far as his personality goes, David Haye is an articulate, somtimes funny guy, but sometimes cringeworthy. He's difficult to hate, difficult to love. He makes stupid, stupid videos that make him look like a complete twat (such as the one where he criticized the Klitschkos choice of opponents and tried to justify his ducking) spouts so much bull**** ("I fought Audley Harrison because the fans sent me thousands of e-mails begging me". "I was a bit resentful because I thought this fight wouln't sell". "I bet on myself to KO him in the 3rd round". "Actually, no I was only joking) I didn't like his trashtalking of the Klitschkos and Valuev either. Talking about the mans appearance, like a homosexual. To sum it up, I think he's an exciting fighter, but I feel sorry for his fans. I don't care if he's english, he's just not a fan friendly fighter. My favourite fighter is Manny Pacquiao. He deserves my money. That's a fans fighter right there, unlike Haye with his bookazines and ****. I will say this though. The heavyweight division would be duller without him. That is, when he actually gets in the ****in ring.
i stopped reading when you said Scurlarantings was "one of Eastside Boxings most influential and knowlegable posters".
Do you think this so called avoidance could be about timing too...:yep It's not always who you fight, but who you don't fight... and the most important aspect of this is when you fight them...:yep This is Haye's career and Haye's agenda, he will do things how he wants, when he wants...:yep I am behind him, let's hope he can unify the division for British Boxing...:deal
Flint, I understand your dislike for David Haye, and I do agree with a lot of your points. However, there's no need to show disloyalty to Enzo just to get your point across about Haye...
why is everyone in a rush to see haye fight the klitschko and then retire. who will there be to anger people,to make them laugh,to make them want him to get knocked out or knock some one out!. people love talking about Haye whether they like him or not. he brings entertainment inside and outside the ring. and all the klitschkos press propaganda has infleunced everyone brilliantly, they are tough businessmen then they are boxers!. i think this article explains it all pretty well http://www.theboxingbulletin.com/2010/10/28/1779654/why-are-american-boxing-fans-mad-at-david-haye
Its not disloyalty to Enzo. Because I owe no loyalty to Enzo in the first place. Why do I need to be loyal to Enzo ? :huh But yes - I wanted to see Enzo knock Haye unconcious - defenetly. But Haye exposed Maccarinelli. I think that Maccarinelli - at the time - was a good fighter with a good power - but he was not ready to step up to that level - he was unprepared - and his defence and chin let him down.
Also Haye should be more humble in negogations with the Klitschkos. And accept to split all money - including UK papy per view money = 50/50. After all - UK customers - will be paying to see Klitshcko as well as Haye. Haye V Chagev - would never sell so well. And there are no more con pay per view fights against the likes of Audley Harrison to sell well - now the public have been duped - and there are no bigger UK names than Audely for Haye to face. Also - because Haye messed about Wladmir and Vitali at negoations - he should feel he owes them some £££££ compensation. He messed them about - signing to fight Wladmir and then cancelling and postpoting - while Wladmir stayed inactive - and delayed fighting - and after all the games - finally had to find a brand new fighter altogther and was 2 months past his fight schedule. This is the reason Wlad is well pissed off with Haye. Haye can compensate them for his joke behavior - by accepting the 50/50 split of pay per view money. Unfortunately - Haye might have a problem with this - as Scurlarantings pointed out - "David has a glib sense of entitlement" Scurla - who has a low tolerance level of ESB poster GazOC - also considered Haye to be just a Crusierweight who is too lazy to do his roadwork. In my personal opinon - Haye is never worth 50/50 - because the Klitshckos bring more to the table - but Haye will never settle for less and use it as a excuse not to fight them because he has a "glib sense of entitlement".
