I'm a big fan of Haye but it's hard to see him beating Vitali. With Haye's terrific hand-speed and genuine ko power, he has a chance against any Heavyweight out there but Vitali, I believe, would give any HW in history a hard night. With Haye's chin issues, he would have to either catch Vitali early and blow him away or box a perfect fight, relying on his speed. Vitali's chin makes the first option pretty unlikely and Haye's attacking mentality makes it hard for me to believe he'd have the discipline for the latter.
Thing is if Haye lands a clean shot his opponnts generally go down, he has concussive power. If he manages to avoid vitalis heavy hands for the first 6 rounds then trust me Vitali is going to feel his punches, its a great fight in the making and i for one cant wait to see it
Honestly, if Haye has another T/KO loss on his record after this match up, it won't be because Vitali knocked him out, it'll be because his corner pulled him out. I don't know how it isn't glaringly obvious to everyone based on his last 3 fights that Vitali is now just a tentative fighter who plays safe by standing behind his jab and is unwilling to get in close and trade. A brutal KO, as a lot of people predict, is just not going to happen with him.
Haye has good power not great power if he had so much it wouldt of taken taken him 5 rounds to KO a washed up barret who was stopped by couser in 2...
If VK keeps his hands as low as he did last night then i'd give Haye a good chance. Also i would expect given the genuine dislike that VK may try and take him out early thus leaving more openings. But wanna see how Haye looks against Valuev first. If he looks poor or gets beat then it wont matter, however if he wins then fight has to be made in 2010.
No i've seen most of his fights and i've seen him live a few times. his speed and power is disgusting. i call it how i see it
Everyone thinks Vitali is slow and ponderous until they get in the ring with him.Haye would most likely be kept on the end of Vitali's jab and Knocked senseless by the first clean right hand Vitali land's.Add to that Vitali's superb chin and defence ? Haye has zero chance.:good
I felt like Haye could take him, but, last nite changed my opinion on that. I do not know if Haye could pull it off. Vitali is a master boxer-puncher now. The man has truly evolved.
