Of course. A British article from a British writer published in a British newspaper glorifying a British fighter. Very ingenious piece of professional and unbiased journalism.

    a couple of bits:
"The one problem is that his blitzkrieg of an heroic John Ruiz may startle the fighting daylights out of the two big brothers based in Germany, whose collection of belts Haye needs to complete his crusade for world domination."

:think british and world dominations?! I thought we are well beyond that stage

"Those talks threaten to become yet more protracted after a wild, bloodsplattered night in the MEN Arena ended in revelations that the Klitschkos are likely now to switch their attentions to Nikolai Valuev, the Russian goliath who Haye defeated to win his WBA championship."
:huh this is completely new to me, and I've been following boxing very closely. Maybe the guy knows something we don't?

"Do we want to see our charismatic Londoner chance his powerful arm against the regimented Klitschkos as soon as possible? A thousand times yes. Make that 90,000 times if either of those fights takes place at Wembley Stadium."

you gotta love it, this kind of national enthusiasm. if germans would write something like this, we all would be screaming that nazis are back.

"Is Haye ready for those challenges, as the pundits keep asking? Too right, he is. This is Haye's time in the bright lights. However, if the Klitschkos take a detour through Valuev it will be in keeping with their pattern of making megamoney against minor opponents."

Yeah right, they've been ducking Haye for years now!

"Not that it would be that easy to blame them. Haye's power and, above all, speed of punching reduced Ruiz to a crimson pulp and would present a painful problem to any boxer on the planet. Factor in the intelligence he applies to changing his strategy to deal with differing opponents and he becomes a nightmare to face."

    okay....

I could go on, but I really enjoyed the piece. Damn, I miss English yellow press! (especially when playing football against a German club, or anything German related).

Don't know if Haye would beat the Klitchko's but he's their biggest treat. I don't think they're affraid of him but it seems like they're negociating like Don King by wanting everything and not giving much in return they are such a draw in europe that they have that power.

It's from the Daily Mail which kills its credibility for starters. However, this kind of hype goes on in every country - Check local American news media when someone from their state or nearby wins a title.

agreed.... but I've lived in several countries and nowhere, nowhere, not even in the states, there is such aggressive journalism as in the English yellow press.

I ought to add, as bad their yellow press is, normal newspapers are a joy to read.

I saw this article this morning in paper as well and thought what a load of shite! He bat a 38 year old former champ who was knocked don on e legitimately and 3 other times with rabbit punches. If he fought a klit with his style he would get ko'ed without a doubt!

The mind boggles. One thing. It is the name Gayemaker. I was always told you cant make someone gay. They either are or they are not. So, how does that work?

The problem is that there are about 5 journalists in the UK who know the faintest **** about boxing.

As soon as there is any excitement in the sport, you get some **** fottball writer jumping on the bandwagon and thinking they know it all about the sport, its the same with your average joe really and it really grates. Everyone is a fan and an expert when there is a big fight.

Also, its the daily mail, and it is a hateful rag with zero credibility. You read boxing articles in the Guardian or Independent, you see something resembling informed and credible boxing journalism. (Though still probably less so than on the Brit Forum here)

He was. Walked right onto a right hand towards the end of the 1st round and staggered back into the ropes. Good news is that it didn't really shake him too much. Just carried on getting stuck into Ruiz.

I like the unbias way you said your post. Respect to you for telling the truth about the article and not just jumping on the article as a major article of truth.

    cheers:good
