I must admit, Haye is quite a funny guy.
He flagrantly boasts "I didn't ask for this fight. I don't think it should be taking place. It's dangerous."

Classic. He's just this shameless mismatch machine. Unworthy opponents come to him and he reluctantly agrees to pointlessly knock them out.
It's funny, and it's his niche.

The problem is, in between these "fights", he's shouting his big mouth of about beating real players in the heavyweight division ..... or simply pulling out of fights against worthy opposition.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he fought Shannon Briggs next and also put that on PPV, or Lucas Browne PPV.

Actually I'm certain he will fight the winner of Briggs vs Oquendo and make it one of his 'PPV' shows lol

 

The problem is there are a lot of casual fas out there that are calling for the Haye vs Briggs fight because they think Briggs could be a dangerous fight for Haye which we know is a one sided mismatch but the bottom line is it will sell.

 

Haye has no problem what so ever in fleecing his own fans, so I fully expect this fight to happen.

 

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy fights.

 

Not trying to rain on your parade but I really think this type of Internet trash talk is going out of fashion. At least that's my opinion, I've done it in bucket loadsand maybe is a good outlet for all the political correctness, but times are changing

 

I'd like to reserve judgement on Haye besting anybody with a pulse until i've seen him actually fight somebody with a pulse.

Two statues and a blown up cruiser who was fighting at 175 less than 3 years ago ain't fooling anybody except those hanging off his ballsack.

 

Reserve your judgment all you like as it means jack and nobody cares about it anyway.

 

Haye's pretty much stating that this fight is an utterly meaningless, pointless mismatch.
He's also got no solid plans after this fight.
He's fighting Bellew for a decent pay cheque and he's motivated because he likes to beat up bullies, apparently.

Haye's hilarious. I think people need to take him for what he is.
Far from being any sort of serious heavyweight contender, he's a talented sideshow act who will deliver some nice little mismatches and KOs for the fans that like that sort of thing.
As long as he can find some bums like Bellew who might at least wait until he's hit before taking to the canvas, the fans will keep coming. If this is PPV, all the better.

From his side of the fence, it's a relatively safe way to earn a living.
I admire boxers who can make a ton of money with no-risk fights and a lot of hype.
I can't be bothered to watch the "fights" live of course, nevermind pay for them, but these guys to me a the true success stories of boxing.

David Haye has a lot of legitimate criticisms, and we will continue to discuss them on this forum as we would for any other boxer like Wilder, Khan etc..

He's actually from the future.
The near future ...... It's a place where David Haye has crushed AJ, avenged the defeat to Wlad (this time with a good toe), unified all the titles, destroyed Wilder and Parker ....... and then absolutely obliterated the universally-hated-drug-cheat Tyson Fury with 1 punch to save humanity from The Gypsy Menace.

We'll see it for ourselves soon enough.
