Such a shame that he would have been inactive for a whole year by the time he steps in the ring against Valuev. He's the type of fighter you wanna see 2/3 times a year. I hope he can make it all up in 2010

its not entirely his fault he's not boxed for so long. the contracts the klitschko's were offering were appauling. then before his fight with wladimir he gets his back injury, or perhaps it was because setanta went bust, either way, they are both valid excuses to postpone/pullout, who wants to fight for free?

I'm guessing the contract vitali offered was pretty much as crap as wlad's, so as a future lucrative bargaining chip, he goes after valuev's belt which the klitschko's also want.

Im guessing, once he takes Valuev's belt then he'll have the Klitschko's knocking at his door as apposed to the other way around. Lets just hope that we do see 3-4 fights a yr after he bums Val!

disagree when he becomes active combined with the fact that he knocks mo fo's out he shall have a long career when an if he dethrones one of the klits.

Backed it up with what? By beating Bonin and Barret as a HW?:nut. By stating that he was the savior of the HW division, putting his name in the same breath as Luois and Marcino, or claiming that everyone in the HW division was a bumb waiting to be KO, and stating that WK had no heart, glass jaw (odd coming from a guy who got KO by a former SMW:nut:yep), or that it'd be one of his easiest fights and that he'd KO WK within 6 rounds; yet with all that bravado, extremism (decapted shirts), and gloating, when he had the chance to fight argubuablly the best HW in division (which he stated he always wanted to do) and according to him one of the easier fights in his career, he mysteriously backed out with what became a hand injury, which became an arm, which became a back injury, which became 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, to 8, then reverted back to 4. And according, Chef, Wladmir's Camp manager, they have yet to get an offical medical proof/record of his injury. When he had the oppurtunity to fight one of the other "bumbs" he again bitched and this time complained about the contract, the same contract he had with Wladmir and claimed the Klitschko's were demanding too much, yet Goosen and Arreola had the fight signed within less than a month with VItali. Don't tell me his greatness as CW, by unifying and beating the likes of Enzo Mac. The guy has fought a total of 7 rounds since beating an ancient Jean Mormeck in November of 07. Guys like Miguel Cotto, among others who are at the same age, has fought more opposition with better opposition. His not HOF, nor an ATG he hasn't done ****.

I think you miss the point, nobody denies the fact that David Haye is a good quality draw and a very big breath of fresh air, but you cant deny he needs to be fighting more in his prime while his best years are still here.

You know, would he actually just fight 2-4 times a year, forget going after the Klitschkos, just fight top guys to earn a mandatory spot ... think about all the money he could be making and publicity he could be earning for himself.
Even thought I'm a Klitschko fan I was really rooting for Haye. I was very excited about what a personable and entertaining guy like him could accomplish. Then there were two things that killed it for me...
    1. "I'm going to be the HW savior, I'm not going to be like the other dinosaurs of the HW division fighting only 1-2 times a year, I'm going to FIGHT 3-4 times and bring excitement back to the division." - Sir, I'm still waiting.
    2. "I'm going to fight the Klitschkos because they are the TOUGHEST SOBs in the division and I'm going to start with Vitali because he's the better brother." ... after signing with Wlad, pulling out, nearly signing with Vitali and then blowing that off to sign with Valuev ... "I"m going to fight Valuev because he's the EASY way to pick up a strap". - Holy 180 Batman!

And don't defend him by telling me he's not going to risk getting hurt or KOed before getting a title shot, cause that's just a ***** way of saying he's a fraud to begin with.

Well, I'm still hopeful that he'll at least make a dent in the vision by cleaning up the WBA...or get stuck in it's quagmire.

I agree , he gives us something to talk about in the post Tyson era other than Tyson and his lesser counterparts ( Holy, Lewis, Bowe, etc.) We all need to thank David he gives us someone to hate on! lol

That myth has already been so thoroughly debunked that the only appalling thing is people still repeating it.

The two objections Haye fans spout about the contract is firstly that Haye had to fight both Klits. Which is exactly what he said he wanted. Geeze, he wasn't just loud about wanting to fight both Klits he was plain offensive.
Secondly it is about how all he was getting paid was the PPV in UK. Which again, is what he asked for.

The contract gave Haye everything he wasked for, and handed him the greatest opportunity to win the titles and unify the division.

Only a real **** can complain about a contract that gives you exactly what you ask for.
