A really good C/W, however there were a couple of fighters he could have fought down there, and sadly his H/W run will be remembered much more than his C/W run, his legacy will also be diminished by many because they just dont like him.
Not bad. In reality though he only beat three or four good fighters. He was on his way to having a really good run and probably destroying everybody but went up for the money. If he'd beaten Cunningham and Adamek it would be an excellent record.
Personally, I reckon he'd of beaten both too. Shame that it's his HW 'legacy' which will be remembered. ATG Cruiser-weight
Had the potential to go down as a great CW but we will never know as he didn't hang around for long enough.
**** his CW legacy, the poor wee basturt broke his toe 3 weeks ago and couldnt tee off.He has kept it quiet even after getting schooled by Klit and that shows how brave and elite he is.Hes up there with the very best and i honestly dont think its an exaggeration to mention him in the same breath as Henry Akinwande,Scott Welch and could even be up there with Audley Harrison but only if he had a gold medal.
Haye has a decent legacy at cruiserweight. He started off as a talent but after some hiccups he matured in the best in the world. He beat the man and unified against his biggest threat. It was short but devastating. Haye was a different animal at cruiser. He would fight 'em all and he looked to finish other than the farce of the Abdoul fight. I was a BIG fan of the cruiserweight Haye but then it all went wrong!
A great flash in the pan. Sure i'd love to have seen him against wlod, uss and braithwaite but he definitely secured a legacy in the division.
Good. It gets overrated a bit, because he unified so many titles he gets compared to Holyfield what with him being the only other guy to be anything close to an undisputed champion of the division, but comparing who Holyfield fought to do it and who Haye fought doesn't hold up well. Haye went throught the usual beating bums process, lost to Thompson, rebuilt against more modest fighters, beat Frogomeni which was a good fight and a good win, became WBC mandatory and sat on that until the Mormeck fight came up, I'm sure he got it for the Abdoul fight so it's hardly a case of him having knocked off all the divisions top fighters to get there, beat Mormeck which was a good win, beat Enzo which I'll still call a good win, and then left, no cleaning up the division before or after becoming champion, he beat 3 top fighters. Mormeck himself took on more good fighters, though he did lose some of the fights, Virgil Hill twice, Dale Brown, Wayne Braithwaite, O'Neal Bell twice and then Haye.
one of the best cruiserweights of all time and possibly the hardest hitting his power at that weight was ridicously good! He would smash the **** out of every cruiser world champ atm
