Who would be three fighters David Haye should fight at Heavyweight, before jumping into a title fight?

Someone short and not too powerful. It's a shame Chris Byrd left the division.

Toney is still there ... but I think it would be a tough fight for Haye.

Once Haye steps in with a real HW his little fantasy is going to come crashing down. He dominated CW because he can squeeze his small HW body down to under 200lbs and make weight. Once he's in against guys who are even bigger and stronger, real super HWs, he's going to be in for a nasty wake-up call. Klitschko will send him through the ropes.

he should stay FAR AWAY from anyone with power. but lets be realistic: i would be surprised if he ever made it to championship level, let alone win a title. just aint in the cards.

3 from Golota, Arreola, rahman, maskaev. if he can't deal with that level of comp he doesn't deserve a title shot

Shannon Briggs- Why? Because if he can take his legendary early round power, he can handle some of top guys power as well. It will at least prove his chin isnt glass.

McCall- Why? Even though he is now 43, he still has some pop as well as legendary chin still intact. If Haye could knockout or stop him, the Heavyweight division may be in for a scare.

Povetkin- Why? His workrate and toughness can make it one hell of fight, where both men can get floored throughout the fight, not only that, this fight should be enough to project him to the next step, which is a title shot.

I would go in that order as well.

David Tua, Chris Arreola, then the winner of the Klitschko/Peter fight.

Since according to Haye the entire division is bad, these soft touches should be easy for him.

Why is not on the cards? I mean the heavyweight division is not at all that strong. I believe he has the power to KO most of the champions and contenders, because unlike the rest of them he has power and speed. Yes he has be KOed once but thats because he gassed himself out and it was a tough tenth fight against Carl Thompson.

IMO Haye need to fight one older guy to establish his position at top 10: Briggs, Golota, Lyakhovich, Maskaev, winner of Toney/Rahman. Then young contender as Arreola in the eliminator type fight.

he was also knocked down by JMM. fought fairly close with lower cruiser comp like Fragomeni Johansen(suffered a huge cut). These are guys 200 or less. when you look at the heavies...you've got some far bigger punchers, Peter, Maskaev, Rahman, Chagaev, Virchis, Povetkin(who has the pressure and stamina to outlast and ko Haye) not to mention the Klitschko's who are far larger, and far more powerful than anything he has seen. Vitali has the chin and the power to easily ko haye. Wlad has the speed and power to easily ko Haye. Its not Thomas Bonin in the big leagues.

I think he should stay away from Briggs because Haye's night would be potentially short if he gets clocked not even directly to the chin.

He should also avoid Povetkin because of the Russians high work rate and decent power.

McCall would be beatable but I don't expect Haye to stop him.
