Has David Haye's power and speed, been taken to far....?

He does not throw combinations like Mike Tyson, and his power is overrated at Heavyweight and is not proven.

A younger Evander Holyfield had faster hand speed than David Haye.......

Does he hit as hard as Lennox Lewis...????

I believe things are just being taken to far now, all this Haye matrix crap. I am one individual that is not buying into it.

    You are one individual indeed

Haye is fast as **** and has damn good KO power.

    22 wins (21 KO's) - thats power my friend.

He's also a lot faster than any of the other plodders currently active at HW.

Plus the only reason he didn't get a KO in his other win is that he wanted to show he could pace himself over the twelve rounds.

You can only go on results i suppose.
Yep, he's fast. I haven't seen a heavy thats around at the moment thats as fast as him.
Yep he hits hard. He KO'd Bonin faster than big Aud, and Ko'd Barrett faster than Wlad or Valuev.

Don't think he's quite as fast as Keanu tho, think thats a little bit of over confidence on his part.

I dont think u can doubt his power and speed. His movement is fantastic but i think his stamina and his chin r not the best.Defo has enough tools 2 be a hw champ.

    I'll give you that.

I also think he will have real trouble getting around Vlad's jab.

Does anyone remember this quote from Vernon Forrest before his first fight with Mosley: "Height and reach negate speed and power." Not totally accurate, but it certainly helps, and Haye will be giving away a lot of height and reach up at HW.

    (1) WTF are you on about. Abdoul had been stopped by Wlodarczyk.

    (2) He went 12 rounds, fact.

He jabbed a human punch bag, you say.

Sure sounds like there was possibility that he was he was trying to prove himself over 12 rounds.

Have you seen the workrate up at HW?

Which fighter up there is gonna wear him down? None of them is my bet.

He's in the kill-or-be-killed territory up there. He either KO's the guy or gets KO'd by the guy................unless Vlad just jabs the **** out of him for 12 rounds, but I can't see that happening because Haye doesn't strike me as the type to accept that kinda defeat. He'll keep trying to the end, and go out on his shield if needs be.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck it probably is a duck.

Exactly. Fans have doubts about his stamina (I do), that is why he tried to reassure them with the 12 round fight that his stamina is perfectly OK.

Yeah exactly he could ov knocked that guy out he kept just jabbing and moving i think after the thompson fight he was just trying 2 prove he improved his stamina and could go the distance if needed.I still think he will have problems with his stamina with the amount of power shots he throws in bunches trying to take off heads he will always have problems with it.And is always trying to knock opponents out asap because he knows he cant take a good shot.

Haye doesn't have the technique of Holy or Tyson so he can't put punches together as well. In 2s or 3s he can pull off nice combos but not much more. You get to see Hayes speed pure and raw when he lets rip with one shot with full speed. This is also your opportunity to see him let rip with his devastating power.

No one has ever faced Haye without getting hurt in some fashion. Minus Abdoul cos that was just an awful David Haye. Haye went against everything he is known for.

I love how people hate on his HW power. The man has scored 6 kds and 2 kos against good fighters. They were both top15 at the time of fighting. Haye hurts fighters with his jab.

It must also be accepted that even though Haye was a cruiser, he wasn't beating up small guys or light heavies. Macca is a big man. Mormeck is a big man. Countless big strong Eastern Euros were fought and finished.

Hayes speed and power is undeniable. I just hope he keeps working on his game, his strategy, technique, fitness etc. I was suprised at how cocky he fought Barrett. I was expecting a much smarter fight. Working off the jab, hands tighter, breaking him down to the body etc
