I thought it was a impressive performance, except for the flopping. But I think Haye should have been going for the KO by Round 6 or 7, where he still has momentum and Klitschko still needs to come forward and win rounds. Haye waited till Round 12 to take chances and by that time Wlad just needed to survive. We didn't know **** about Haye as an elite heavyweight before this fight. By giving Wlad his best fight since Peter I, he went a ways towards proving himself as a legit Top 5 but he should face another top non-Klit heavy and show us what would happen. Maybe the upcoming Povetkin-Chagaev or Thompson-Chambers matches will give birth to a new hyped challenger, but until that happens Haye vrs. either Klit still looks to be the best fight in the division.
He still looked for the big punch and held his arms low to invite wladimr in for big wild punch for him to counter but that never came
still no explanation from am0kgonzo, Badmoonwulf, crunchpump, Fullhouse, Massacre692, pacpowerpellet, Terror, Todd498, on why his preformance in the ring was worse
More or less agree with this. Haye seems to me like a guy with talent and at times a good tactical brain, but who for some reason can't quite draw it all together and put it into one performance. Don't get me wrong-I appreciate that he is a relatively high achiever, but I think natural gifts have carried him quite far. I definitely think he sells himself short in the ring.
Wlad beat the daylights out of Haye's cowardly, single digit punch per round ass, took his belt. The Haye Hype train has been derailed and dismantled. Nothing more to see here. Let's move on. i was going by sky stats haye is at the very least 4th best hw, some ranking him lower is just idiotic. fat dan ranks him 7thatsch
No he didn't, he didn't run at all. He was always on the back foot in the Valuev fight, he used his reflexes and body movement here. A lot of the time he stood straight in front of Wlad with his hands down by his sides and Wlad still couldn't land. He didn't run at all, he may not have thrown that much, but he didn't spend the fight on the back foot. I really wish folk would stop making things up.
No he didn't. He was always on the back foot in the Valuev fight, that called be termed 'running', however he used his reflexes and body movement here against Wlad. A lot of the time he stood straight in front of Wlad with his hands down by his sides and Wlad still couldn't land. Some of Hayes head movement, reflexes were very impressive for a heavy. He didn't run at all, he may not have thrown that much, he was cautious, defensive, but he didn't spend the fight running. I really wish folk would stop making things up.
