I remember him saying that to fight at heavyweight he was looking to put on 20 pounds. If, at Cruiser, he rehydrated on fight night to say 210, then he could end up as high as 230, but I imagine he will be in the low 220s for the start of his heavyweight career.
Wlad questioned Haye as to whether he was big enough for the heavyweight division...........he certainly is. I always had the impression that Holyfield had to work really hard initially to put on mass to move up to heavyweight whereas it seems like Haye is adding mass quite easily and naturally. In fact, his problem may be keeping the mass down as his optimum might fall in the 215 - 225 range whereas he could easily come in 230-235.
Does he retain his speed at that weight - that's pretty hefty. The fastest heavyweights of all time have been below 230 (prime Tyson, prime Holyfield, prime Ali). Can you think of any seriously fast heavyweights in history scaling over 230? Just wondering.
Haye's Glass Jaw will get shattered at Heavyweight. All this talk about him is a waste of time he is fighting a handpicked opponent that Wlad knocked out 8 years ago. This is a joke.
He weighed in at 203.5 Lbs for his first heavyweight fight dated 12-10-2004. He also fought two other fights at heavy weighing 206 and 217. This will be his forth fight as heavyweight. His opponents of his first three heavyweight fights weighed 217.5 lbs, 229 lbs and 231 pounds. I think he'll weigh at least 217 for his upcoming heavyweight fight. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=155774&cat=boxer
Here is Haye at the Bonin weigh in. This content is protected 217lbs Haye recently. This content is protected "233lbs" There is no way that Haye will weigh in under 220lbs
Well to put it in perspective, Corrie Sanders is only a inch taller but covered in fat. I honsetly dont think size is going to be too much of a problem, everybody who has knocked Wladimir klitschko out has been smaller than him...
He actually looks more defined in the abs in the 233 pound bulking pic than he does in the 217 Bonin pic, i think that puts things into perspective. Expect late 220s imo.
i love how he is regarded bigger and bigger throught the thread startign form 208 to 235 my guess is around 250?
Probably because (no offence to the OP because he probably isn't familiar with some of the info surrounding Haye's weight recently) but 208 is ridiculousy low and is probably less than he weighed on cruiserweight fight nights. He was 217 when he fought as a cruiserweight at HW, so obviously hes going to be at least 217, more likely a couple of kilos higher.
