I was kind of disappointed he lost even though Rubio is my country man and hell he is even from my city. He gave a shout out to Torreon after his victory which made me smile.

Now we no longer have that super star coming up but i guess thats good. He will never be a star. Chin is too shaky. He would have to be a defensive wizard to pull that off and he is a pressure fighter. A pressure fighter with no chin wont go far.

also did you actually want to see Martinez in there with this kid?? Even after round 1 i saw holes in his game and pictured Martinez stopping him early. Kellerman said it. Martinez is a super fighter.

In fairness this Lemieux guy was so highly tipped by so many on this forum, we all get them wrong sometimes but these guys were so sure of themselves!

And these guys are no where to be seen now(those who were suckin off Lemieux)!!!!

at least he went after a real boxer early in his career... others wait to have more than 40 wins to move to some C fighters.

Don't forget also that Rubio has been on a win streak since the Pavlik loss. He fought a very smart fight. Lemieux did not. But Lemieux has great potential, and at 22 has a lot of time to develop it. I think he should be considering a new trainer though. They sent him out with entirely the wrong fight plan and no backup plan.

So true. But keep in mind they are mostly Quebecer's who support anything that the promoter and newspapers print or talk about. They are nowhere to be seen now.How are they going to retract what they said?

Lemieux will never change his trainer! Anber is like a father to him! And the corner didn't do a bad job it was up to David to listen to them and he didn't

No, he came out swinging for the fences from the start. They should have been telling from the beginning of his camp that this fight was going to be different, that he needed to be methodical, pick his opportunities, work the body relentlessly and pace himself. They had some good advice during the fight, but the game plan was very poor. It wasn't just Lemieux disregarding his corner's instructions.

    Ya, you nailed it buddy!!

One loss to a top rated guy with twice his experience makes any 22 yr old fighter an "exposed hype-job" with no future in the sport. :good

Lemieux is by far the biggest fraud ever to climb through the ropes. :thumbsup

Keep up the good work Einstien. :D

Lemiuex would have lost to Martinez anyway, but I would still favor him over the Euro champs Sylvester and Sturm.

He wouldn't beat Sturm. I also have Lemieux over Sylvester but Sturm's on another level as boring and feather fisted as he may be, his technique and jab are top notch.
