Seriously though, at this point Lemieux needs someone who can give him a few more rounds...I think he's developed as far as fighting 1 and 2 round rights is going to take him. It's time to put him in with a journeyman who can last 6 or more to see how his stamina is.
:huh He stepped up in his last 4 fights. Plus, he's only 20 years old. He's gonna compete at world class level in 2011-2012 and that's perfectly fine. And what's boring in KTFO his opponents?
Hmm I'm not really impressed from what I just saw. He looks pretty average I think. But maybe I expect(ed) too much because of the ''Title'' vids:think, in which he showed great counter-punching skills and technique. He isn't the technical counter-punch monster I expected him to be after all those years.
A Québécois Valero? I like that he's like AA in that he maintains a good guard and can still be very aggressive.
Yep, Lemieux is being well schooled by Russ Anber, a guy who has traditional views on the sport of boxing.
Anber has stated in the past that he likes fighters to stay busy and build a record while getting experience. He's not going to rush Lemieux along. He may try to get Lemieux to more around 35-0 type thing before we see him contending for a top title.
I like him. The comparison with AA seems good. Neither are very tall, both "explode" with quick, powerful combinations. No straight punches at all though in the fight with Delray Raines (haven't seen the other, i don't have time right now). He will likely become a champ in the division in a couple of years time, except if the division gets extremely strong. I've heard of him, but never seen him before. Looks to be a good fighter.
Very good speed and power. Looked good as usual but there's not much we can gather from these fights at the moment. He ate way too many jabs considering who he was fighting. The middleweight division is pretty bare right now but in a couple years its going to explode. You've got Lemieux, Jacobs, Korobov, Andy Lee, Gennady Golovkin, N' Jikam, Pirog, Barker, and Lara is just 6 pounds lower at 154. Even though I don't like JCC jr. he sells tickets, so we could have some big fights there as well.
He need to work on his head movements to avoid those jab when getting close. But he got plainy of times to work on his bases before steping up to the big leagues!
