Fair play to Lemeiux he looked humble in defeat. I hope the haters ease off him.
Lee went from here to zero when he lost to Vera. I expect a lot of similar comments here about Lemeiux as it was with Khan after prescott etc.
A lot of "fans" can't accept that boxers are human and don't always win.

I agree paddy,I don't like haters either. Lemieux just wasn't used to being the one hurt in the ring and showed no survival skills once he was. The stoppage was a bit premature, but Lemieux was definitely going the next round and maybe his trainer wanted to save him from a worse kind of defeat. However, Lemieux is still young, has an exciting style and can grow from this experience. Plenty of fighters have done so and were better because of it. For now, though, the night belongs to Rubio so congratulations to him!

Coming from Qc, I am still a fan. Good decision of his corner. The kid is still a kid and his bubble just burst. Might be hard on the ego, but what is wrong with that at 22? Rubio managed to withstand the furies, and connect when he needed to. The guy was not 3rd WBC for nothing.

Lemieux will still have a great carreer, it is his to adjust from now on!

If Lemieux learns from this fight he will become a future world champion for sure. I am impressed with his huge power, incredible, even his jab has power!

His resume was so horribly thin that there was no hint as to how Lemieux would fare against anyone better than a slightly below average journeyman. We should have seen this coming for sure. Lemieux has power, but no defense, energy, effective movement, and, most importantly, no ring IQ.

Power only gets you so far. Hopefully the kid has learned that using his boxing fundamentals is the best way to go. Going in the ring looking to KO you're opponent every fight isn't a good idea. He needs to fight more intelligently from now on, and use his brain.
