every time they match a young kid with unproven will and chin against an experience puncher I have a bad feeling. A puncher is always in the game

Rubio is underrated and can't be counted out of any fight. He's seasoned and experienced, and David fought stupidly.

22 years old, and pretty good for being that young. If he learns from this loss, the sky is still the limit.

Time will tell. Too early to give up on him, though. Amir Khan lost worse, had more hype, and is living up to it despite a KO defeat. David L. can do the same.

You can tell when someone is a boxing fan when they show respect to the fighters. Hes young relied on his power too much hopefully hell go back to the drawing board and learn from this. End of the day when you have an exciting style you are generally better remembered and have more fans than people who are perphaps better boxers.
Best of luck to the lad also think if this is his power now imagine what itll be like when hes 26 or so

Hey there. First post in months. Well hello, seems like half of ESB posters were 'hoping to see him learn from his mistakes' while the other half is just laughing their asses off... you know what, it's all good. That's human nature.

I'm still a big fan. David & Russ are smart people... David is emotionally dumb, fought a fvckin stupid fight vs Rubio. Yes I was in attendance, and heard him hit leather the whole time. Pretty sure he connected 2-3 times, that's it... and not power shots per say. Was NOT impressed, and thoroughly disappointed... however I understand he put quite a bit on pressure on himself, and wanted to hit a homerun to tell the world he was on to big things. His defense is sub-par, and I want to believe they're working on that precisely. He MUST learn to pick his shots, and that comes with -way- better ring IQ which Russ has... just don't really know if he has the ability to get David into the right mindset. David almost fought Rubio using a streetfight approach, and this can never happen again.

He'll be back. I don't consider him top tier at the moment either, but I'm certainly hoping to see a different David in the Fall/Winter. The kid can punch, and boxing's all he's got. "I'll be back meaner & hungrier than ever" - prove it David. :good

Based on David's Twitter and the press release for the new Fast & Furious 11-12 series, David will be fighting again on December 17th at the Québec Colisée. Probably a no-name confidence builder, but still. "December!", "I should be back in December" so far out leads me to believe he was given a date or at least a 'month' for his return. On Aug 7th, roughly two months ago, David was in "pre-camp" as he put it. His breakable opponent will be announced right after the first Fast & Furious event (involving WW Décarie), in all likeliness.

The season ends again this year in April, just like it did with David's loss last year. Hoping to see him fight an intelligent battle vs a top 20, maybe top 15 MW.

I like Lemieux a lot. He needs to get back in the ring and start building his confidence as soon as possible. If I was his advisor, I'd try to get him 6 or more fights for next year, so he can develop physically and mentally. He needs ring time, especially as so many fights are short.

People will look at him and wonder how someone with that many fights can be so green. The problem is, he's usually destroying nobodies, so he will be inexperienced. Here's hoping he can find some good opponents who will test him, because if he can pass those tests, he can fulfil his potential.

Confirmed. Lemieux vs Alcine, Dec 10th. Confidence booster, 5-6 rounder IMO, with David pressing on the gas only in spurts the entire first 3 rounds. Pedal to the metal if and when he hurts Alcine with a power shot (and frankly here, that could be anything).

    ************************
« Pour mon retour, je voulais un combat significatif et je suis heureux de cette opportunité. Cette fois, si j’ai besoin de 12 rounds, je serai prêt! », a déclaré Lemieux.
    ************************

I wanted a significant/meaningful (I think they quoted an "anglicisme" lol) fight and I'm glad I'm getting this opportunity. If 12 rounds are required this time, I'll be ready!

    ************************
« Même si on est ensemble depuis quelques jours seulement, je connais David depuis très longtemps. J’aime son attitude au gymnase et le 10 décembre il sera affûté pour la guerre, Alcine a besoin d’être prêt! », a ajouté Ramsay.
    ************************

David's trainer: We might only have spent a couple days together in the gym, but I've known David for a long time. I like his attitude in the gym... and he will be ready for war on Dec 10th, Alcine better be ready!!

It looks like Drozzy is now focusing his dickriding on Bute after the Leimieux ship sank. Will he disappear like a ***** for months from ESB when Bute loses as well?

You can't argue with me in other threads so you bump old ones up?

You quoted me saying Lemieux would put Rubio through an insane pace. Again, I acknowledged my bad call on the fight as did many others, what the **** are you on to?

    "Dickriding" - :rofl

Funny thing is, I still support David to an extent. He did put Rubio through a high paced first half... and failed to manage his own fight in the end. :smoke
