Can it be that you didn´t know yet? The darker the skin colour the slicker you are. And only slick fighters will achieve greatness.

...and a great bump for years to come. :D

Been on forums since 2005 (caraudioforum.com, g35driver.com), and you're the first guy to call me droz. I was watching the WWF when I was 9-10 yrs old, and this new guy Droz was crazy as ****. Actually he died in the ring, or seriously injured himself and retired. Drozzy is a step beyong crazy.

Tyson & Vargas were really young when they fought for championships.

More recently, Canelo has been rising fast in the rankings and holds a BS belt.

Lemieux wanted to become a pro as soon as humanly possible, so seeing him gunning for a belt after 25 fights is not out of line IMO.

    Quotes from build-up threads:

    Ayala

    Camacho

Cool stuff. Nothing wrong with them quotes, just interesting to see people's perspectives before a given step up/down in opposition.

The thing thats crazy about Lemieux is he seemingly doesn't go out looking for the knockout.

Yvon Michel: "You see, David comes to fight and... he's not overly aggressive. Things happen as they come, he throws combinations but isn't necessarily looking for the KO or looking to rip his opponent's head off. Every time he connects with power punches, his opponent's attitude/approach changes."

    Ask Purnell Gates.

I know what you mean....but look at what happened to Vargas....he was a great prospect and could have been champ for a long time....his management rushed him....put him into big wars one after another....yeh he might have been young....but the wars he went through aged him much quicker...and began losing.....hence why he retired so young....hope they dont do the same with this kid....

I don't think it has anything to do with rushing him along, its obvious he needs a step up in competition because he's blowing what's put in front of him away!

if he lands a big fight and loses then he has plenty of time to rebuild.

if he were to spend the next 5 years fighting journeymen then people would be saying he hasn't been tested, then if he loses the big fight after going through said journeymen he will be classed as "bum" or "over rated" by some of the brain dead on here.

If he's good enough then he's old enough.

I've seen it in the UK with DeGale, christ he isn't even into double figure fights yet and already he's British champion and talk about a world title in the near future and he is two years older than Lemieux.

In retrospect what I said about Lemiuex/Ayala is pretty funny. I really thought Ayala would test young David: NOPE:nono

spot on. :good David is patient, and looks to put his punches together. It just so happens he has nuclear bombs in those fists.

Hey -- at least I got the follow up right! I said he was ready for David Lopez or Marco Rubio!

That's right. And personally, I'm glad he ain't stuck with the 6'2" southpaw. Rubio is a threat, but is pretty much tailored for David's style.
