David Lemieux vs Curtis Stevens on for March 11th

Stevens problem is he sometimes let's his opponents out work him because he's looking to get you out of there with one big punch. With Lemieux he can't afford to do that. He's got to get a good pace going and early, but can he do it?! I think it's a good fight, but I have to favor Lemieux here. I just think he's the all around better fighter here.

 

Stevens tko he doesn't have the chin issues of a lemieux, I guess its whoever lands first though its a pick em fight. I rate lemieux as the better boxer but when the bombs start landing it will probably be who hits harder and take the better punch.

 

I'm strongly considering taking a trip to NY for this one. God I wish this was on the undercard of Jacobs-Golovkin but I expect the prices of that fight to be much more than this one so it balances out.

 

Actually I think Lem has the better chin. His KO loss to Rubio mainly came from gassing himself out if I recall correctly. Lighter punchers than Lem have put Stevens on the canvas before.

 

Thats a good arguement, to be fair he took a lot of GGG shots clean even though they were jabs the volume he took was quite high. Like I said it is a pick em fight, I would have to rewatch the tapes since you made that point.

 

Should be a good one. Don't Jacobs and Stevens share the same promoter now? I wonder why they wouldn't add this fight to the Jacobs vs Triple G ppv undercard, instead of fighting in New York a week earlier.

 

I like both these guys. On paper Lemieux is probably the favourite, but I have watched the GGG / Stevens fight several times and Stevens has some vicious combination punching up close. He really is underrated. If he wasn't such a plodder footwork wise I'd say he'd probably win.

Neither guy is going to archieve much at middleweight anymore i think... But that doesnt change the fact this would be violent fight. might be bloody affair fight if they can withstand at least little time the bombs they are dropping.
