Pirog, 17-0 (14), definitely beat better opponents after he left his last opponent, the 20-0 undefeated Daniel Jacobs unconscious on the canvas. Pirog has a bit of an akward style, but hits very hard and keeps on coming... he reminds me a bit of a middleweight Marciano, style-wise.

On the other hand, Lemieux seems to be technically more proficient but also hit unbelievably hard. His knockout of Camacho Jr. is one of the more spectacular ones of 2010, even if Camacho was done career-wise. I think David showed quite good technique in previous bouts, but I may be mistaken.

Who would win if they fight tomorrow?

Pirog. He's been in there with the lions. Experience will pay off for him.

I'd love to see Kirkland vs Lemieux.

While I think Pirog gets overrated slightly off the back of the Jacobs win, at this stage I think he would beat Lemieux. But I do think Lemieux has much more time to improve and would probably go for him if they fought in a year or two.

He IS getting overrated, I totally agree. People are making him out to be some kind of slickster, which he is not. But then again, Lemieux is getting hyped up as well. At this point in time, a lanky, hard hitting and more experienced Pirog beats a green T-Rex armed Lemieux. But the Pirog vs Pavlik/Martinez threads were silly.

Pirog. Lemieux's a little stiff out there.

Pirog. I think Lemieux will struggle more than a little when he finally faces someone hard to hit. Before facing someone like Pirog or Martinez, he should really get in there with someone like Ishe Smith.

I agree on that. While not being a ''slickster'', Pirog is hard to hit and Lemieux hasnt fought many guys like that yet and wouldnt be ready for a guy like Pirog.

How isn't Pirog a slickster? Because he's Russian? He's one of the slickest fighters out there right now. He's not a cutie, but he is a slickster.

I'm going with Pirog, I think he is technically better.

Even though I'm one of Lemieux's biggest fans on here, I'd have to pick Pirog RIGHT NOW. He has too much experience. But given the fact that David's improving at each fight and that they are stepping up in competition, the result could be totally different in let say 18 months...
