This is a bad match-up for Spike. Lemmie is a better version of Spike and will paste him out of there late rounds.
O'Sullivan just said: ''I’m not really concerned about Lemieux. I’m looking at the bigger picture. I’m looking at Golovkin-Canelo. I’ll be ringside to watch their fight after I beat Lemieux, and you know, I can’t wait to [fight] one of those guys.” Unfortunately for him, he'll be in the hospital getting his head checked by doctors after his knockout loss. No ringside fight for you.
He's getting the 4DX experience if he can watch it from his hospital bed. Feeling every punch either fighter throws, and still feeling it when they don't throw at all, and between rounds.
I like Spike but it's a big mistake to overlook Lemieux here although it's probably more show than real talk. He doesn't need to talk that arrogant. He is a good fighter.
He just dragged a guy up two weight classes, from welter, who hadn't fought in two years... and couldn't even knock him down. Talk about a showcase gone awry. Spike is an overrated fighter in my opinion and Lemiux, while not elite, has proved worlds more than Spike. When did Spike ever gain a KO of a the boxing year, none the less step in the ring with a legendary fighter like GGG. Lemiux has been there, done that, Spike is some random guy getting hype because he was a part of the Canelo/GGG lottery and he has a 1920's strongman gimick.
