 De La Rosa got flattened by Centeno Jr a year ago.
I guess this is an actual tune up fight but after all that "Lemieux is a main event fighter" talk, i was expecting something better.

First fight back after getting battered, was always going to be a bit low key

In this case I can live with a rebuilding fight. No need to make a Pascal/Matthysse/Dawson type mistake and fight a strong opponent right away that might severely trouble or even flatout beat you.

I get that, but they turned down a fight with Stevens on the Pascal-Kovalev II undercard because "He´s the biggest attraction in Montreal".

Will he really make more vs James than he would have against Stevens?

A tuneup is not about making the most money. Dudes already loades, just got destroyed by ggg. He needs someone that'll give him good rounds but can't bear him

:thumbsup i totally agree with that. I think any fighter should take some time off after such a loss. Then get a few, quick, easy fights under their belt.

But the way his team went on about it, i just figured they would fight someone better.

Taking Stevens after GGG beat down would have been very exceptional but stupid. I have high hopes for DL. He might be the next #1 when GGG moves up or retires. Stevens vs. Lemieux 2017!

2017? HBO owes Lemieux a fight and im guessing they will be pushing Stevens for it.
I doubt Lemieux will have more than one tune up.

Reasonable opponent to bounce back from. De la Rosa isn't anything special(he did beat Angulo a couple years ago) but he's not a cab driver either.

Lemieux should beat De la Rosa, probably by ko, and move onto bigger things after this.

Since Lemieux isn't on the same card as Ali-Vargas it looks like Luis Ortiz will be, hopefully he gets a top opponent for that card.

I have no problem with Lemieux fighting De La Rosa. But they are marketing it has a top opponent which he is not.

Watch them ask for $50 PPV in Canada for the priviledge to watch that fight. ROFL

It could be made earlier of course. I expect Stevens to build his name a bit after couple of defeats. It could be much bigger later on. Both of these guys would be favorite against Canelo.
