March 12th @ Olympia Theater. Both are coming off stoppages losses, and before that career-best unanimous decision victories. The difference is that Lemieux's fights with N'Dam N'Jikam and Golovkin were both in 2015, which JDLR took completely off after fighting Alfredo Angulo and Hugo Centeno Jr. in 2014. Both are treading in the same waters now, outside contention but not too far a swim away (Lemieux a bit closer) and either could use the other for a raft towards a title shot. On paper this is a competitive match-up. De la Rosa is undoubtedly the superior boxer, a slick mover with a style that could give the Armenian-French Canadian trouble. Lemieux has greatly improved his ring-cutting abilities in recent years, however , and possesses more than enough power to drop or stop the Mexican-American (down several times in his career). Lemieux is unranked in the WBA or WBO 15 and is #6 in both the IBF & WBC. De la Rosa is unranked by any org, having been out for thirteen months (will be fifteen by fight night).
De La Rosa gets beheaded literally, and that's after his eyeball is knocked clean out of its socket Any Given Sunday style.:deal Let's hope David doesn't slip on it.
Very even fight, I believe De La Rosa has the skills to beat Lemieux but he will have to box a perfect fight to do it. And I think he can!!
Exactly. There's a lane to victory open for King James here, but fraught with danger and he can afford no mistakes. :deal I don't see him being able to recover if Lemieux gets him badly hurt even once.
WTH? De la Rosa has a pretty average or slightly below chin, sure, but he is a good defensive mover and went ten with Angulo (in victory, no less, not even necessarily running, in fact at times pressing the action) and hard-hitting journeyman Conyers (getting off the canvas thrice in the process), and eight with another limited fighter but hard puncher in Brunson (again getting off the canvas) Not getting the stoppage might be a mildly disappointing result for Lemieux, but worth retiring over? :blood
I think Bumchum is really overrating Lemieux. Alcine is a far Worst fighter then De La Rosa ever was.
Lemieux Vs Prime Raines The Angulo that fought De La Rosa against shot Raines, not that he was ever very good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeMhCYv-2j4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4S9dEpa-_ig
Man, fuck outta here sounding like a basic bitch with your inappropriate usage of extreme hyperbole and the word literally. Slip on your Uggs and go order a PSL.
What the **** is your deal with Lemieux IB? You picked Rosado to beat him, N'Dam to beat him and now you're picking De la Rosa......clearly he's improved quite a lot. You're getting like me with Cotto and Rigo and Eubank Jr and Walters and Stevenson and Spence and there's too many to count.
