Well seeing as James has been operating at Lt Middle, and has shown a very early vunerability, i suspect David would be favoured, Perhaps if Anne Wolfe was missing from James's corner that could also be a contributing factor (?)
James early "Spectacular" may lose out to Davids perhaps more Long Haul "Ëffective" . I'll go for David. Gung-Ho James probably walks onto a Big Counter and David appears a good finisher.

(David Lemieux Vs Blair Richardson may of been intersting !?)

Good matchup. Kirkland's last jump to MW didn't turn out all that well (at least against Ishida)

    I'd pick Kirkland here.
Reason: Would expect Lemieuex to be very cautious agaisnt Kirkland.
That would give James the best chance to tee off on an tentitive opponent.

Then again Lemieuex could land a bomb??

    Kirkland

But you know there's a good chance he'd get stopped in the first 20 seconds.

Kirkland wins if he doesn't get caught cold early. I would love to see this fight because you know someone is getting KTFO.

this is exactly the type of fight that's winnable for Lemieux.....Kirkland is very vulnerable to big punchers that are aggressive and that's Lemieux in a nutshell.....Lemieux also has a far better chin so he could go toe to toe with Kirkland and chances are he'd hurt him before Kirkland can hurt him. Lemieux will body you if you're chinny.

Lemieux may have never been knocked out cold, but he has been rocked badly by Marco Antonio Rubio, and those shots didn't even land clean. Even his corner knew he was on ***** street and threw in the towel.

As far as Kirkland goes, I think he got caught cold in the Ishida fight and never recovered. He took the best Angulo could muster and survived to KO Angulo for the first time in his career.

I would favor Kirkland in this match, especially if he had Ann Wolfe in his corner.

I think they are both a little bit over hyped. Don't get me wrong either could win a championship, but I don't see either as being the next big thing at 160. This being said, I think a fight between David Lemieux and James Kirkland would be a good bout to open a PPV with.

    Whoever lands 1st!

Both guys can bang, Lemieux seems to have a little more longevity chin wise, but that is debatable...

I'd favour Kirkland, by stoppage, after being put down once himself, if not twice
