    I'm not saying he wasn't a tough guy. I respect any man who gets into the ring as often as Rubio did. But, I have been watching boxing for over 45 years. And, I know the difference between skilled operators and tough journeymen. You brought up the Duane Thomas fight. If you don't see a marked difference in skill between guys like Duane Thomas and Rubio, I am not sure what else to say on the matter. Thomas was a very well schooled, Kronk fighter. He had a magnificent jab. Maybe you never had the opportunity to watch him fight because it was over 30 years ago. I did watch Thomas, Mugabi, Lemieux, and Rubio fight many times as their careers were playing out in real time.

    Duane Thomas was a world champion who fought out of the KRONK gym which was a power house at that time.
    He also beat Sumbu Kalambay in a close fight. Go ahead and name Rubio's best win.
    Kofi iced Rubin in ONE round.
