ggg has been on a roll lately, but his comp is suspect. rubio looked like the washed up old pug he is....geale was garbage and adama was even more garbage. lemieux is a young guy. he's fast and explosive with a ton of power. ggg probably has better technique, but as he showed against stevens and geale, his defense isn't that great....also, ggg is not as fast as lemieux. I call it a 50-50 fight....wouldn't be surprised to see ggg get cold****ed though.

I watched some of GGG fights on youtube ... he fights with a very high risk style willing to get in the pocket and trade and he gets hit . GGG takes unnecessary punishment in order to land his own shots . He really is remarkable in that he goes for the KO , he paces himself but it is a pace that wears down all his opponents . He has a 90% KO rate !

I would encourage anyone interested in GGG to watch his fights with Curtis Stevens , Osumanu Adama and Grzegorz Proksa , each had success landing hard shots on GGG . Proksa especially was tricky because of his speed , reach and unconventional style . Stevens was durable and skillful . Adama pretty decent also . That he stopped them all is impressive but how he does it in a controlled textbook style is unique .

As far as Lemieux goes , let him face Stevens or Adama . I doubt he would even go the distance and lose by KO

Non-news, really. What is he supposed to say? 'I'm scared shitless, sorry guise lol."?

I don't believe David. Not that I don't like him....I do! His style of fighting is exciting and he has real power, however......I think he is scared of the "boogeyman".

His mouth says one thing but he quickly mentions other fighters who clearly are not the top fighters in the division. Quillen? He's a "great" fighter? He ducked and gave up his title to avoid having to square off with GGG. If David was as confident as he claims to be he would be begging to prove that he's not scared of the man everyone seems to be avoiding.

I think the GGG vs Lemieux fight could be big if built up......but that's business.....regarding what I actually believe with regards to David's feelings on Golovkin....... He's scared. Which isn't a bad thing in most cases. Over confidence is something that I would be more concerned about if David seemed to exhibit no fear.

Both fighters can be hit, which makes this interesting.....by from a fundamentals standpoint and a styles match up this fight favors GGG. Lemieux likes to throw hooks....and a lot of them. Golovkin likes to throw straight right hands down the pipe which will find its mark faster......punching in between David's hooks. They both like to go forward. When Golovkin walks David down we know his punches will not have the kind of torque they do when he's putting his weight behind it.....if Golovkin boxes off the back foot allowing Lemieux to push the action, we know GGG still maintains his power. Who is more durable? Who has the better chin? Who has more layers when it comes to their skill-set? I just don't see David having more than a punchers chance. It would be explosive and fun..... But short.

Common guys, are we talking about the same Lemieux who couldnt knock Joachim Alcine, let alone even got outboxed by Alcine?

If he's THAT powerful, how come he couldnt knock Rosado or Alcine, two fighters who got kod a few times each?

I feel he's just being prepped by HBO to look like a decent conteder, while in fact he's got little to offer.

He gave up his title to avoid Korobov. Quillin ducked Lemieux before he ducked Korobov, look it up. As soon as Lemieux dispatched Guerrero in 3, Quillin pulled out of negotiations. David felt like he was done wrong there.

No we're not. Not at all. Watch the Rubio, Alcine, Torres, Guerrero and Rosado fights in that order and tell me he's the same guy...

Already knew that.....Peter gave up his title when Korobov was lined up but ultimately was avoiding a showdown with Golovkin. .. just saying that David has fear in his heart of GGG. David beats Kid chocolate if that ever happens.

Lemieux was 22 or 23 when he fought a competitive fight with Alcine, a split decision and entertaining fight.

Of course he isn't afraid. I would love to see this fight down the line, two big punchers squaring off.

Interesting post, and a lot of points i completely agree with, although i'm not sure its a 50/50 fight.

There are two very important facts,

Golovkin is easily drawn into a gun fight.

    Lemieux can most certainly bang.

If he's not a afraid then he should be

GGG would knock him out silly like he did with his daddy Rubio
