It´s a good move for Morrell. He defended that paper title enough times and got nothing for it. He is quite literally in the same position as he was 3 years ago.

would of been smarter for canelo to fight him now then later. morrell is the real deal just like benavidez

 

As a mandatory he's one of the easiest fights for Canelo to make, as is Benavidez and Mbilli.

But Canelo won't fight them instead he's fighting Munguia.

No qualms facing the WBO mandatory John Ryder. But the 3 mandos who just so happen to be the best 3 SMWs not called Canelo all happen to be the 3 he has no interest in facing.

What has ACTUALLY been said is that Benavidez is ducking Morrell, not Canelo

 

Morrell has been Canelo's mandatory for ages. As has Benavidez. Mbilli more recently so.

These are his mandatories, the fights that are easiest to make since they're literally mandated. They also happen to be the top 3 SMWs not called Canelo.

But Canelo isn't facing any of them, he's facing Munguia.

 

Interesting fight. Hot Rod is serviceable but Morrell will be favored.
