When were any of the guys you named listed anywhere as mandatories? Morrell is the WBA regular champion. WBA have not ordered a unification or designated Morrell as Canelo´s mandatory. Mbilli is definitely not anyone's mandatory. Benavidez is the interim champ but I don´t think the WBC have formally announced the mandatory, otherwise there would have been talks of a purse bid. Sulaiman has publicly stated that Canelo has to fight Benavidez in 2024 and that Benavidez is the mandatory, but they haven´t announced a purse bid or even an actual timeline besides "2024". So in fact, the WBO were the only ones actually enforcing a mandatory. This doesn´t mean I condone Canelo´s choice of opponents as of late. I am quite unhappy with there recent years. He should be fighting the guys you brought up. And I don´t get why none of the ABC´s are enforcing their mandatories. Just announce the damn purse bids you ****ing cowards! I swear, they are just as much to blame here as Canelo. It´s unfair to their own top contenders. *I tried to check the WBC websites rankings because they list mandatory obligations. But the site isn´t loading. Benavidez is possibly listed as mandatory.
Morrell is WBA, Benavidez is WBC, Mbilli is IBF and Ryder was WBO. Guess which one Canelo chose lmao. And now he's facing a voluntary Munguia instead of facing a higher ranked opponent and ticking off a mandatory at the same time.
You are conflating mandatory with top ranked. None of those mandatory obligations haven´t even been announced, otherwise we would have had talks of purse bids. M´billi isn´t even the top ranked IBF contender.
They are not. Well, it could be argued that Benavidez is but for some reason the WBC have yet to enforce it or announce a date at which purse bids will be ordered. A simple google search will tell you that your are simply wrong here. And again, I am not trying to defend Canelo or condone his actions. It´s just that the WBO were the last ones to actually enforce a mandatory.
If Canelo faced Mbilli it would be his IBF mandatory. If Canelo faced Morrell it would be his WBA mandatory. If Canelo faced Benavidez it would be his WBC mandatory. But instead of these very easy to make, high ranked opponents, he's facing Munguia. The fact his long standing mandatories are leaving the division to get a title shot speaks absolute volumes. You could argue, that if WBA mandated a fight within 90 days etc it would happen, but it's more likely he just vacates like he did for Golovkin. It's a shame because Canelo used to always fight the avoided guys, and now he's just the same as every other diva out there.
No, I am stating that technically they are not mandatories, except maybe Benavidez(the damn site still doesn´t load). Again, you are conflating mandatory with top ranked. Ffs, M´billi isn´t even the top ranked guy with the IBF. He sits at number 3. There has been 0 talks about him being mandatory for the IBF. You are quite literally in the wrong here. Again, a simple google search proves you wrong. And Morrell would be an unification, not a mandatory. Which is kinda arguing over semantic due to the WBA´s corrupt nature. But the regular belt is not a mandatory position. For some reason, the WBO are the only ones to actually enforce a mandatory.
The organisations haven't enforced them, but we all know if he fought Morrell it would be his WBA obligation done, same with Benavidez and the WBC. Was the Ryder mandatory enforced? Did Canelo receive a deadline before that fight was made? I was wrong about Mbilli, completely so. He must have been on the undercard for a fight that's as an IBF elimination as I have some kind of association with him and the IBF belt for some reason. I'm right about Morrell and Benavidez though. Wrong about Mbilli. And if that's good enough for Meatloaf, it's good enough for me.
There are 4-5 belts in each division each with their own mandatory. If fighters used mandatories to decide their fighting schedule they would be lined up for years. No rational boxing fan can say Canelo is ducking Morrell. Its just not realistic whatsoever. Benavidez? Absolutely.
Canelo has 4 belts. So 4 mandatories. And if those mandatories are the best fighters in the division it should make it easier to give the fans what they want. Canelo isn't ducking Morrell, I never said he was, I just said it isn't a good look that his long term mandatories are moving up a division to get a title shot.
They arent the best fighters in the division. Benavidez is the best/2nd best SMW. Remaining are unknown. You said this: Someone "refusing to face" someone means what? None of the top fighters can refuse to fight someone w 10 fights. Not even lil Tank could duck a 10 fight pro. Be serious
Benavidez, Morrell and Mbilli are the top 3 ranked contenders he hasn't faced. Sorry if that upsets you, they aren't my rankings, they're from Ring and TBRB. I know what I said, because I said it. Refusing to face someone means he is refusing to face him. Actions speak louder than words and Canelo has made poor fights since losing to Bivol. He obviously isn't ducking anyone else at SMW other than Benavidez because that wouldn't make sense. Benavidez is who he should face, not Morrell. But Morrell should be next in line after that, and then Mbilli. Wahid has ducked plenty of fighters in his career, in fact I don't even know if Loma was in double figures when Wahid started ducking him so that's quite a poor example you've given lmao. Canelo is the undisputed champion, and the people who are easiest for him to make fights with are leaving the division because he's instead fighting lesser challenges. Like I said, it isn't a good look. A better look would be Canelo facing Benavidez instead of Munguia in May, then Morrell instead of Charlo in September. If he's fighting twice a year they should be the best two fighters he can face.
Loma is the most decorated amateur ever. Your crush "wahed" was still on the undercard when Loma was headlining events. Tank didnt want no smoke. "Lmao" You cry about Canelo not fighting mandos like that means a damn thing. Waled didnt want no belt when Haney was undisputed lmao...wonder why
Wahid ducked Loma, Wahid ducked Haney lol, tell me something new. Here's some breaking news for you, he's also ducking Shakur Stevenson but you conveniently left that one out, I wonder why lmao. Plus I'm not crying about Canelo, I said it isn't a good look that his mandatories are leaving the division to secure a title shot. You keep replying so I keep replying. Nothing you say on this website means a damn thing. Fighters will fight whoever they fight, nothing you say will ever change that. However considering this is a boxing forum it is somewhere I'd expect you to give a boxing opinion, it's kinda the whole point of the website. It doesn't mean a damn thing, but it's the whole reason behind its existence.
