6'foot 6' seems to be about the height that draws attention in the heavyweight ranks these days. Don't know much about him but at 28 years of age and only seven fights he has time to develop. Of course in todays boxing he'll get a title shot in 2029 with a record of 14-0.
Aussie Dave Nyika has a tremendous future. As soon as we've trained all the Kiwi out of him, he'll really be something. Plenty of good sparring for him up there in Queensland - Justis Huni, Jai Opetaia, Joe Goodall, Teremoana Jr (likely Paris Olympics rep @ Super Heavy).
Get him out of Austrlia and he might go somewhere. He's wasting his time there, he'd fight better opponents here in NZ and that's saying something.
Have watched about 3 or 4 of Nyika's fights now and I'm not that sold on him. He's 28 now and has beaten a well past his use-by date and overweight, 'Butcher' Berridge and little else.
he beat berridge , who at this point i dont think even trains much anymore save for cardio and some weights
Probably would have been better for his career had he joined Peach boxing. They would have fast tracked his career and had him fighing for a title sooner rather than later, like how they did with Light, and now Pampellone and Mikhailovich.
Aussie Dave is a generational talent. I too think he may be more suited to the am’s though. Hasn’t crossed over just yet. I think he needs to base himself in the US or UK to get himself to that nek level.
If his social media ACC is anything to go by he's putting in ridiculous miles on the road and chilling with his Mrs, in rural locations. Not seeing a whole lot of high level development going on. Pretty average attendance at boxing shows too. Again, doesn't mean it's not happening though....
