Immediately after Quarless' big win over the aged John L. Gardner, He and Pearce were interviewed in the ring regarding a potential British Heavyweight Title fight.
This would have been live on a Frank Warren / ITV show. Aside from being a mouthwatering contest, Mickey Duff and Terry Lawless could not have spun young and green Frank Bruno out of fighting the winner for the Title.
Can anyone make sense of this situation ? @Mike Cannon ? @mcvey ?

Did Frank ever hold the British title? I remember him winning the European.

Thanks for the nod buddy, haven't too much to offer up, other than Quarless ( when he was clean, and in shape ) was a handful, thinking the players behind Bruno saw the fight as high risk low gain fight for for Frank, around that phase of his very careful astutely managed career, Noel stopped Gardner and Eklund, so no mean puncher. stay safe guys.

Thanks Mike. I saw Noel once. He looked like the white Muhammad Ali until he got chinned. I think Pearce would have been tough enough but of course, his tragedy was about to unfold.
Lawless would not have let Bruno near Noel.

No. He never did. Stable mates Horace Notice and Gary Mason held the British Title for a large part of Frank's career.
