    Briggs is old but he can definitely crack very hard so that might be a bit too risky for his first fight back after such a long layoff and him having spent the last few years walking around like a big fat slob. Obviously he's got the skills to beat him but the last thing he needs is for things to go pear shaped at the first hurdle. He should face someone who doesn't carry that kind of firepower for his first fight back IMO just to be safe. But then again Vitali beat Peter in his first fight back after a 4 year layoff. But Vitali always kept himself in good shape so it's a bit different.

    Stiverne lol. Granted he can punch but he's a big fat penguin with lead boots on and Fury would toy with him from the outside.

    prime stiverne (if there is such a thing) would be his second best victory. even now, stiverne might give him rounds, and perhaps a mild scare.

    I think Chisora would've beaten Stiverne.

    Depends on what Fury shows up. Assuming he's even 50% of what he used to be I think he would toy with him. I remember watching a semi-shot 40 year old Ray Austin use his height and reach to totally out box a prime Stiverne for most of their fight, Fury is taller, longer and way more skilled and a better mover than Austin ever was. Austin is a huge guy at 6'6'' but Fury has 3'' in height and 5'' in reach over him.

    i would have liked to have seen Stiverne-Chisora about four years ago. Austins draw with Ibragimov is definitely better than anything Fury has done outside of the Klitschko match.

    Austin put up a few good performances/results in his prime against quality opponents.

    I'm a big fan of Iggy's and I wish he'd hung around for a few more years. Obviously he wasn't the biggest HW but he could really crack, had good skills and he could take a good shot too. He nearly blasted Austin out of there with the first left hand he threw. Austin had to hold onto him like a limpet for a good 15-20 seconds IIRC.

    i would have liked to see Sultan continue. gotta appreciate he became champ, then got out after one loss with his faculties intact (hopefully).

    Yeah it just would've been nice to see him in a few more big fights. I remember seeing Jeff Mayweather say that he had really bad problems with his hands so maybe that's why he decided to walk away.

    my knees, back, and hips are giving out from playing no pads football until i was thirty and hockey until i was forty. never made a dime. i can understand guys throwing in the towel.

    thanks.... i am 51 now. i'll be fine. just had to get a few things cleaned up (ruptured disc and no cartilage left in my knee) doctor told me no more sports seven years ago after the knee surgery. had both knees drained since then. arthritis in my knees, back, and hips too. oh well, i had fun, i'd do it again.

    I haven't suffered any serious long-term injuries yet but I've got a few niggles that I've picked up along the way and even they get to me sometimes. I've injured my back, neck, shoulder etc in the past and it's a really unpleasant thing to have to live with even if it's just a few weeks or months.

    lol well if you had fun doing it then that's good :)
