Well then, David, you shouldn't have gotten into athletics where you get paid based on the interest you generate in fans.

Besides, I could name 10 HW's who I'd pick over Price and another 10 where it'd be close to a 50/50 fight in my eyes.

 

At one hand he has a point, on the other hand it's the fans that indirectly pay his bills so he's dependent of them.

If a star football player misses a chance for open goal he will be crucified by fans and media from wich 99.9% never would play on that level.
But the player in question gets paid a motherlode to perform from the money they bring in, and so they are in their right to critize him.

The bigger the sport, the bigger the fallout when you fail.
But you also get richly (over-) rewarded for performing well, certainly being a British HW.

I don't think he's directing that towards all fans who criticise him. I think he's specifically referring to those that deride him (for being knocked out) whilst never stepping in the ring themselves. If you watched the Wilder-Audley broadcast on BoxNation where he was a pundit, you would have seen him having to answer questions from a really ignorant, disrespectful presenter that was practically calling Audley a disgrace for getting knocked out. I think he, Price, is fully aware of those that talk about and critique his game (which I'm sure he's perfectly fine with), but the "*****" he's referring to is that chin-checker sitting behind the keyboard taking pride in seeing someone get knocked out and offer nothing back but irrational hate.

 

I wonder how he's feeling mentally, he understands he's gotta win this at all costs and his career is in serious danger.

I don't agree any boxer should be laughed at for being knocked out, these guys are putting there health in danger for our entertainment. It's completely different laughing at a footballer for missing an open goal. Exposed as what? a human who can be knocked out? surely not...
