Did he really deserve the hype when his chin and stamina was untested?

Lots of time for big Pricey. He was proper powerful, really old school heavy handed. I always felt after the Thompson fight he had two chances. Become a jab and grab safety first fighter a bit like Wlad, and to an extent, Lennie became after they were 'exposed' as fragile, or become a four round blaster, a bomb or be bombed entertainer. Sadly, he became neither, he neither used his physicality for smothering defence or atavistic offence and like many who sit on the fence, his arse fell out his trousers. Good career, no shame, wasn't there an asterix next to Thompson and Sacha for drugs? I can't remember. Kid was an Olympian and a bloody good amateur, did more than most everyone who criticised him...

I'd like to see Pricey, now, as a regular pundit.

I feel his honesty and down to earth character would be a great addition on fight nights.

He actually offers such a unique perspective, instead of getting all these who oh ex world champion he knows what hes talking about etc, this Price offers something completely different. Openly talks about the mental difference between being a elite gym fighter and not translating it to the ring etc, just interesting insights, the guys had a career lacking success but his knowledge of the sport is brilliant.

    Fully agreed.

And it IS really a bit of a shame that he personally happened to mentioned ( but certainly not HIM complaining/whining in any way, shape, or form ) the last time that I saw him being briefly 'interviewed' on a fight night, in that he mentioned he was somewhat surprised, in that he actually WAS being interviewed....

Anyway, I'm sure Pricey would be a very good addition on Brit domestic bouts. As you've already mentioned, he's not a bad talker in general anyway, ( certainly doesn't bore or grate on you ) and he CAN speak from a unique perspective and importantly, he'll always be honest and interesting.

AND a great addition in a purely camera presence perspective too!

Probs much better presented and dressed than scruffy bollocks Bellew in tonight's Eubank- Benn presser!

    ;)
