david price ready?

I be shocked by anyone who turned down a chance to fight Price. He hardly lighten up the scene and is a name because of his success in Olympics i'd expect guys to queue up to beat him. He's not shown me anything in his stop start career although it's not all his fault...them opponents Maloney served him were awful.

 

maloney said he has a big fight lined up for pricey in february that will put him in british title contention.

 

About time. He's fought too many genuine tomato cans so far. He should be ready to fight the best in Britain with his attributes. Nobody else has anything like his size and skills so all this fighting cans business is frustrating. Whether he has it upstairs or a good enough chin is another matter but eventually you have to sink or swim, fighting these eastern euro bums doesn't progress him.

 

Hopefully it's Fury, especially with their previous history.

 

The level of his opposition, even for a novice, has been riduculous. He needs to step up from pregnant latvian level to British domestic level.

 

Haven't seen much of price but I think he will be decent he looked good in the sparring videos with Dallas,remember Tyson fury saying price had a weak chin does anyone know if that's true?

He did beat Fury and Dallas comfortably in the amateurs though. But I think thats where the weak chin issue comes from, its not really the most promising as a heavyweight when you get stopped with pillows and headgear on. But then again Tua was stopped in the amateurs so it just depends how he strengthens and toughens up.

 

I worry about the size of Price's head

 

The main thing frustrating me about Price is his use of the jab. Yeah, I mean its okay, better than most but for his size he should be putting a lot more on it. For a man of his size and ability he should be looking at Wlad and how he does business, how the jab can be the main weapon but I don't feel it is for Price at the moment. He can get a bit too involved a mid range, I'd like to see him really thumping that jab home and then following it up, its a bit half hearted at the moment for me.

 

Yeah i've noticed the way he flops it out with no aggression or precision. Sorta like he can't be asked yet it's his best weapon as you say.

No, he's not even close. But he does need to step up some in order to get ready. Can't say I have high hopes for him though.
