The real point is that it's his job, and most viable means of putting food on the table (outside of the plumbing).

He's probably made the risk/reward calculation and decided that his best chance of earning money while keeping his health intact, is to be some kind of domestic gatekeeper. Fair play to him if that's the case, and there's room for fighters who just want to trade at British level. With the right promotion and hype you can make plenty of money without touching world-class.

I'd much rather he did that than getting knocked stiffer than a two-peckered billy goat against a beast like Dubois. He'll never be the kind of opponent who will hang tough for 10 rounds against up and comers, and he doesn't seem to have the same snap on his punches that he used to a few years ago.

I don’t understand how you can knock a man for openly admitting he’s not good enough. The same poster when Eddie Hearn puts Price/Allen in with a big puncher is the first to scream negligence.

I agree that his dreams of fighting joshua/povetkins/wilder etc should well be over. But hes had the same game plan for years now. Fight guys that aren,t very good off the back of that fight someone thats decent that knocks him out. At this stage its time to stop doing it. Joyce and dubois far from the finished article...neither of them been in at world level. Dubois is good...but hes fighting cans. Price looked great against allen. He,d also look great fighting that guy dubois beat at the weekend. And joyce is a knockout waiting to happen...again hes not fought anyone of note. Both not even fought at european level. Its time for price to either prove himself or get out the game.

We all know where its heading....fight another guy thats no good...make out its a wonderful win and hes back finally ready to realise his dream...then get knocked out against someone that has fought at world level. Joyce and dubois arent at or near that stage yet. Its exactly who he should be looking at fighting. Coming across like hes fleecing the fans tbh. Its the amir khan model. Although at least khans not very good opponents are half way decent.

Totally agree with Price and feel lik he's being honest. He thinks with the right matchmaking he could get himself into a decent payday in a winnable fight. He is also offered nothing from the Joyce or Dubois fight so would want a massive payday as it would mean retirement afterwards for him.

From his perspective he has two options
    - lets say he was offered £300k to fight Joyce/DD. Lose and retire
    - Take £100k to fight someone like Wach, the same again for Wallish then a big fight against someone like Chisora which would likely earn him over what he would get for the Joyce/DD fight as a PPV co-main.

    - Failing that if he had 4 wins on the bounce Dillian Whyte will need a stay busy fight that doesnt risk his mandatory status. Surely Price Whyte would be PPV with a strong undercard. I would be putting my name forward for that as he would get likely £1m plus for the fight it would be a PPV headline which he has never done before and would get a crack at the WBC interim belt.

Breaking news: a man who can’t throw a punch criticises another man who does it for a living

Well he's not going to admit it publicly but he knows he'd get brutalised by Dubois and Joyce. Dubois hits very hard and has a really good jab to set up his power punches. Joyce has a great engine. Both very bad match ups for Price. Sensible.

How many times does he do that tho. The problem is price doesnt want to prove himself against anyone. It wont be wach or wallin. It,ll be guys we,ve never heard of. Then go for the big shot. Its the same formula hes done for years. Must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Not only is he fleecing people with it....hes taking another guys shot. A guy that does have ambition and does want to prove himself. Paul smith done the same thing for years. Theres a list of them that do it.

Hate criticising price cause i like and support him but its time to prove he cant still beat decent names or give up his slots to someone that will. Dubois and joyce...both pretty green at pro level anyway. Neither been in at a good level. Dubois,s beating up cans...dubois pretty much the same. Chisora/whyte etc a lot more proven than these two. Not asking him to face joshua or the next tier down. Or even the next tier down. Just asking him to prove himself against a name of some sort.

The problem is it wont be anyone near hueys level. It,ll be guys that are rubbish. Then on to getting a big money fight against a guy that will knock him out. Rinse and repeat till one of the rubbish guys eventually beats him. Thats when he,ll give it up. At this stage...no one wants him in with a serious name. We do want to see him taking on lesser names like huey of upcoming names like dubois or joyce tho. He avoids that level altogether. Almost not giving himself s chance everytime.

We know Price is a nice bloke, and I think he has paid his dues in a way. He has found out the hard way that he ain't above British level. He has showed some balls on the way. He is waiting for a cash out to set him up, and I don't blame him if im honest. I would be the same.

Its not his fault its the promoters that pay him more £££ to knock over the likes of Dave Allen than he would earn in his van plumbing. Everyone knows Dubois would spark him why are so many desperate to see that fight?

Price deserves an easy fight after his recent ones and the face he was attempted to be fed to Dave Allen (try not to laugh).

Appreciate it's not matchroom, but Nathan Gorman might be a good option.

Starting to wonder if Chisora down the line is a potential career ending fight for him setup via Hearn..

Come on tho....dubois only had something like ten fights about 20 years old. Best name on his record is gorman. ..who,s never beat anyone. The rest of the guys dubois beat have been useless. Tbf he looks good but hes largely untested and inexperienced.

Joyce the same...hes beating guys that are turning up old and completely faded. Looks wide open for the right hand. Only had something like 12 professional fights.

Price has been in with some good guys. Amatuer gold medalist. Experienced. Big right hand. We know that the guys at higher european/world level are too much for price. We dont want to see him fighting them anymore. Especially not off the back of beating two or three no hopers. Hes been doing the same thing for years. Its time for him to find out if hes got any sort of future in the game. Doing it by taking on good young/inexperienced guys or half decent names like huey fury. No where else for him to go. Either he can beat them and he can build or he cant and its time to call it a day. His plan is to fight no hopers trying to get a big fight off the back of it. Havent we seen that before and how it ends for him. Not good. Then he does it again and again. After povetkin...its time to find out if he has a career left by taking on guys a good bit below povetkin in joyce and dubois. Not more no hopers before getting knocked out against a decent guy.

Fury, dubois and joyce havn,t beat anyone of note between them. Hes aiming for no hopers....then whyte, joshua, chisora, or someone like that parker, povetkin again etc. Guys that are actually proven. He,ll get beating up badly by them. At least against the first list he actually hss a chance. If he doesnt...its time to get out the game.
