This from a scouser. David Price has beaten bums. Guiys who are smaller than him, guys he would beat easily in the amateurs and who he beat easily in the pros. He steps up (like when he did in the amateurs) and he is outclassed, simple as that. He is too much of a dope. He could have finished Thompson in the first round tonight but he was scared to throw a punch. Should have just unloaded bombs and got the job done.

He looked so awkward in there tonight. The shot that dropped him hardly had any power in it. You can't be a heavyweight without a chin. We knew he had no chin, it just never got tested in the pros. It is not like Price is a young kid. And it is not like he has beaten top guys. He has fought no one and beat no one. He just got exposed at the level he is at.

I am in so much shock now. Out of every scenario I envisioned, this was not it. I genuinely thought Thompson turned up for a pay day. I feel for Pricey as he is a nice guy. He has serious power but has no defence and no chin. He should just retire and work as a doorman.

You're an idiot, that KO didn't hurt him at all in the long term.

He should quit a career where he earns 6 figures annually and could earn 7 figures in the future, good advice.

out of the 46 threads on Price this evening, this one scoops the award for the shittest.
Quite a feat given how pathetic some of them have been

Price looked dominant, landed big shots and had Thompson wobbled sooner than Wlad did.He could have easily finished it in the second, his biggest mistake was neglecting the jab once he had Thompson hurt and looking for the big shot.Price didnt use the jab enough throughout the fight to set up the big shots. If he did that he would have beaten Thompson imo.He wasnt brutally stopped so he should give it another go and maybe go for an immediate rematch,he showed enough in the fight to reverse it second time around.

Price can use this loss to get better. Joe Louis got knocked out. Lennox Lewis got knocked out by Rahman and TKO'd by McCall, Tyson has been knocked out, etc., on loss does not destroy a career, plus Thompson is a good fighter, can beat most of the top ten, which show how good Vladimir Klitschko really is. There should be a rematch, perhaps Price can win the rematch, he just needs to work on defense, not retire!

    Here's a news flash:

Boxers get knocked out. It's part of the sport.

Yes you are right but all those fighters got knocked out but by fighters that were young'ish, hungry and in decent shape. tonight Price got knocked out by a 41 year old, way past his best, out of shape Thompson who was knocked out in his last fight and by a shot that looked like it did not even land flush.
I agree it does not mean his career is over but it is not looking good and it is hard to put a good spin on tonight in my opinion.

It's not so much his career is ruined, but let's get some perspective. He's 30 (or nearly there). He's just lost to his first fringe world-class opponent, conclusively. It happened because he's technically flawed with his hand placement and he stepped into the right hook.

Considering Price's amateur schooling, some of those flaws shouldn't even be there. And at this age? That stuff's like breathing to him.

He needs to really rebuild his style if he's to get near a world-title. But after that loss, I wouldn't count on him getting much further.

That flawed technique and chin just got laid out to dry, by an average HW gatekeeper.

He can come back from this but it involves alot of hard work and dedication

A real hard ask to rematch Thompson, I wouldn't like to make that decision after such a horrible loss.

I read up to: "David Price has beaten bums. Guiys who are smaller than him". :patsch:rofl

I didnt know you had to beat taller people to become a no-limit weight boxer! :rofl Maybe Price should fight an NBA player to please this clown.

And the shot didnt hit his chin! Jesus Christ, it was behind the ear.

"We knew he had no chin" - :huh yep, who is this 'we'??? and how was that was well known!

For me this makes no difference to his career path. And guess what, HE'S A BOXER!!! They take punches for a living. Price is hardly giving it the large one, he's a boxer.

He will get one of the 4 titles IMO. There is so much **** out there at HW, I just hope that he knows this was a fluke.
