    from Ringpolska

how do you see this one going? should be a tough test for Price, TT isn't the youngest, but he has that southpaw stance that makes him a difficult opponent, I'd say Price by late KO, once he finds his range

Sounds good to me, can't wait to see this. Thompson knows a big upset here can bring him another big payday so he'll go all in.

    Nice test for Price.

I expect him to stop tiger Tony in the 7th or 8th.

Legitimate test without expecting him to have his chin-checked with any finality.

Thompson is done. Cant anybody remember his last fight? He didn't even make an attempt to win. He tried to make it to 12 rounds without getting hit and he will do the same against Price.
Price will end him within 2 rounds unless he carries him. Two past it , over 40 years olds is pushing it, but 3 in a row is complete madness.
He should be learning his trade and getting in rounds with guys like Sprott or Travis Walker.

while we dont agree all the time, I totally agree with you on this:good..... Wlad fights Thompson as a MANDATORY and this board goes CRAZY in the match up.. "waste of time".."bull**** fight"...etc.....

now Price PICKS Thompson (not a mand) and these guys like it?

    What a joke!

Big difference. Wlad is the champ, had 60+ fights, and already ko'ed Thompson once before. Price is a prospect, has had 15 fights, and Thompson will be the best guy he's faced. Thompson is a good choice of opponent for Price at this stage but he does need to get out of the business of beating up 40 year olds after this fight.

Price still needs a good deal more seasoning before he's ready to face a top 10 heavy. Thompson isn't a world beater, but he's at least a step up from Skelton.

I understand that price is learning and such.. but THOMPSON?.... NO WAY. Like its been said, Thompson is DONE ... not really sure what Price will learn by KOing Thompson in 4-5 rounds

I will say,,, at least Price keeps fighting

It's not really a joke, it's actually quite smart. Thompson has just been in with the best in the division (win or lose), Price picks Thompson not only to get rounds in and stay active, but raises his profile at the same time. You can clearly see their thinking.

Also, comparing Wlad boxing Thompson (mandatory or not) and Price boxing Thompson isn't exactly fair. There is still a massive gap between the two boxers, so surely you can see why people have a difference of opinion when it comes to the respective bouts.

Yes Thompson is done, but 'done' fighters is what Price needs at this point in time. He's a novice with many flaws, what he needs are guys who have nothing to lose and will try to win (within their limits) but aren't dangerous enough to knock him out.

Thompson is a perfect fight for him right now. Experienced veteran boxer that has boxed for the title twice in the last couple years.

Price will get a KO in the first 3 rounds.
