Its a pointless fight , nothing to gain and nothing to learn. Fury and Chorisa took bigger challenges when they were younger and less experienced.
EXACTLY Jack... thats why I dont understand how guys say this is a good challenge or good work for price:huh
I love how some here think fighting a veteran southpaw (outside of Audley) who was a title challenger not once but *TWICE* in his career is 'worthless' for Price -- a guy with 15 pro fights. Even if Thompson is KOd in 3 rounds the fight can still be a valuable lesson for Price in terms of camp, preparation and gameplan. Also guys (and Chef you should know this most of all) you fight who agrees to your terms. Price isn't the biggest money maker and can't offer huge purses to fighters. He probably fights the best guys he can get for the little money he can offer them. Props to Thompson for taking this fight. And no, I'm not even a Brit. But I feel Price is doing the right thing here.
Thompson from 3 years ago woulda been a good test, I doubt Thompson will even try in this fight after feeling Prices power he'll lay down first chance and take his paycheck. A better matchup would have been someone like Chisora, Wach, **** even Travis Walker can at least punch and test his chin. Price will destroy Thompson. I think Price can whup Povetkin and Adamek right now.
David Price by brutal knock out Th reason to watch the fight will be to see a highlight reel sorta KO
I agree... but Thompson? trust me, he is way way past a threat. Yes Price may learn but IMO there are other livelier southpaws out there that will give him much better work. I spent a lot of time around Thompson during fight week.... he's done... IMO price will get more out the southpaw sparring then the actual fight
BINGO that is exactly why IMO Thomson is a waste of time... and like I already said, Price will get more work from the sparring then the actual fight
Chef knows the truth, Thompson is a spent force. Maloney will no doubt trumpet this as a big step up. It isn't.
