David Price vs Dereck Chisora - How does this fight go?

Hard to call, Chisora will be able to get inside Price and cause him alot of problems thats a given, but will Chisora have the power to stop him? Also might we see a more defensive Price? If Price keeps Chisora at range, he stops him in the mid rounds.

If Chisora came in shape i think he would get price out of there. nothing wrong with chisoras heart and i think his defence is underated hes also got enough pop in his punches to trouble price

 

Interesting. I'm not sure. It's probably close enough that it depends which Chisora turns up. In retrospect whichever version of Chisora fought Vitali or Haye he was going to lose, he didn't really look up for it against Fury but was good against Helenius

Chisora aside, I reckon Manny Charr would spark Price. Chisora lacks the mentality of a world class fighter, Charr oozes confidence. How's Price going to deal with Charr running straight across the ring at him? :fire

I've been saying this for a while.

Chisora sparred Price in preparation for Vitali and according to Don Charles handled Price pretty brutally.

I'm not sure Price hits any harder than Helenius, but he has a much worse chin. Possibly the worst I've seen in heavyweight boxing in all honesty.

Chisora landed regularly on Vitali, Helenius, Haye & Fury so he will have zero problem landing on Price that much is certain.

And in all honesty if he was able to wobble Haye & Fury as he did Price will be going on straight to the floor and getting up jelly legged again when Chisora lands :yep

This is a fairly predictable fight and one that I would recommend Price avoids this year if he wants to rebuild.

 

Really tough fight - i can see it going one of two ways - Chisora roughing up and eventually stopping an overwhelmed Price, or a really close battle were the guy with the shaky chin shows he can take some shots and weather the storm - think Khan vs Maidana were Khan took some huge shots but managed to carry on and win the contest.

It's probably the truth. But just because he's likely never watched a great detail of boxing. But this is ESB, the home of hyperbole so I can't say I'm too shocked to see such a dumb comment.

The Chisora that turned up against Klitschko beats Price by TKO in the latter rounds...

 

I don't know about everyone else, but I tend to use chin as a catchall term for punch resistance to blows to the head - and Price is weak in that respect. There may be a bit of a difference in ability to take one directly to the jaw versus one to the temple, but its just semantics, Price has shown poor punch resistance to shots landing on his head - not great for a boxer, and that is what people are concerned about.

I do not think for one second that Thompsons shot was some lucky mythical temple shot that would have put anyone down. The issue is that it put Price down, and I believe - judging by the video evidence - that most boxers with reasonable punch resistance would barely flinch when that shot landed.
