After Browne's win last night he is now in line to fight for Prices commonwealth title. Should Price take the fight or vacate the title? Price can have a few low key fights as Adam Booth looks to iron out the problems then jump in with Browne. To be fair we wont be able to see if Price has improved if he doesn't take on a live fighter and although Browne is very limited he comes to win. I say Price takes the fight. Have a warm up before crimbo and then 1 more early next year then fight Browne. Price will need to have to cope with the pressure though and he looks vulnerable when he is pushed back. I think Price would most likely lay him out though early because he still hits like a train. What do you think? Shall he take the fight? And if he does who wins?
All credit goes to Browne for getting this far. Really? Lucas "Big Daddy" Browne is in line to fight Price? -_- Give me a break. I now understand how dead the Heavyweight boxing division is. All price has to do is move around the ring and not let Browne tie him up and do the typical lazy rabbit punching/jumping hooks.
to be honest....my moneys on Big Daddy...... tho David Price can "Lennox Lewis>David Tua" him if he has the fitness & discipline
I have not read anything about Price/Brown...................is the fight really on or is it just a rumor?
Man, it's not like the commonwealth title is that big a prize, you're acting like it's a HW eliminator or something like that. If you look at some of the names that fought for it since the 80's then Browne isn't among the worst. And Price is coming of 2 bad back to back losses to Tiger Tony, it's not like he's still a star himself. I slightly favor Price in this one. Browne is all wrong for him at this stage, a strong come forward brawler while Price's confidence is at an all time low, but limited enough for Price to land his big shots and get him out of there.
Happy with the plan above, he has to take the fight, at this stage of his career he does not vacate a title, unless he has something big on the horizon and its a bit early in the "comeback" for a big fight. Browne will come forward which is good and Price should be able to do what he does with his jab and power. Price KO3
At the moment its just speculation. But I think Price is Commonwealth champion and at some point will be ordered to defend against Browne. But he's in a funny position after his last 2 defeats.I agree with the poster who said he should have a warm up before christmas.Should be the biggest most durable Latvian they can find to take him say,8 rounds, and then defend against Browne.Problem is,can't see the warm up being this year. But even if later I think its a good plan,as I think Dave is very capable of beating Browne.Towers was landing with jabs.Imagine David doing the same, then following up.Good rehab fight for him,but a warmup first.Inactivity early career party lead to his downfall,I think.
Browne is very raw although i'm not sure Price should step straight in with him as his next fight..If they did it would be a good fight imo. I could see Browne nicking it due to his willingness to keep coming forward, I could see him backing Price up and end it the same way as he did Towers. (Towers was awful, very negative)
Browne dropping Travis Walker 4 times and stopping him was better than any of Price's wins :good Walker went with the distance with Pulev, Chagaev and Perez without being dropped once. Browne can definitely bang, more so than Tony Thompson and that is a real worry for Price tbh.
