You only have to take him past 3 rounds then he offers his ass to ya, as he did to hammer.

Well will be interesting to see what he does against Love - who is complete rubbish but durable. If Price loses to him I hope he's filled in his application for plumber school as a backup.

Price cant handle the nerves and pressure, and he burns out all of his energy in nerves.

Thats why he is gassed in 5-6 rounds

He is the perfect example of an amateur fighter who was never suited to the professional ranks. He can just about do the 3 or 4 rounds in the amateurs.

Still Thank God for Price and I hope he continues. He has given us some of the most entertaining fights in recent years. The two TT fights, the Teper fight, the Hammer fight. All classics that will live long in the memory.

I think Price has enough to stop him before the 6 round mark.

However, no one knows how much damage the latest Hammer loss has done to him. Could he be overly cautious and as a result let himself be walked down?

I'd really like Price to do well but it's his lack of confidence which concerns me most and leaves him open to be walked down and pressured by even pretty rubbish fighters. Once he's pressured he runs out of steam quickly.

Would face further embarrassment, someone close to him needs to have a word and be honest and tell him hes not cut out for the pro game

Think its apparent that price isnt gonna be a superstar. But theres still a place in the game for him. If hes willing to put the graft in that is.

Its simple for price go back down to british level. I d say even below the top british level for a good few fights. Get fighting regularly. Every single card he can get on. Take the short money. And build it from there. Theres not really any shortcuts for a guy like price. If he goes in above his level again too soon he,ll just get found out again. The only way around it is keep building that confidence up...by knocking guys out.

I actually think penfold improved him...and he could have beat hammer. Its just that the preparation going into it was all wrong for price. Think he battered two absolute nobodies then tried to go in with a good european level guy. For guys like price is always gonna be 50/50 at best.

Loves a step in the right direction tho. Hes not good but hes not also completely useless. Shows price might be back in it for more than just sitting about for a payday fighting nobodies till the big fight turns up.

with his unreal power he'd be suited to the 3 round prizefighter format imo. though his chin might not hold up.

Ive lost so much money on Price over the years.....& I'm sure my signed glove would be worth a bit more without his autograph on it....

Is that the same Dave Coldwell that was saying Price was much better fighting at about 2 and a half stone above his previous weight? And then when Price gassed, hung him out to dry and blamed everyone else? No wonder Price left him.

If he can do 12 quick rounds of sparring with 4 different sparring partners who are then fresh and able to bring a quick pace he should not be gassing out his arse after 5 rounds in fight night. This has been a consistent occurance during his career so clearly has issues on the coping with pressure side mentally and needs help.

I so badly want to see him achieve something. I can't remember if he won the Lonsdale outright but that could be his next aim.

He should stay at British level for 3/4 maybe even 5 fights START JABBING and then possibly step up. I still think with the right preparation, tactics and most importantly mind frame he could win a European. Even if he can't progress I'd rather make 5 figure sums about 3 times a year while I still could by training and fighting than working 40-70 hours a week in a job you hate like most of us. Which could be the alternative.

Tbf price always gets a pass from the boxing fraternity. I dont blame penfold...theres no point sugercoating it at this stage or telling people lies. Its too late to protect price. Maybe after the first thompson fight but not now.

Wasnt like he was saying price was useless. In terms of future work why should penfold get punished for it. Guys looking great in the gym. Then come fight night he,s gassing. Theres not really much penfold could do outwith the usual encouragement etc that he did give him. Down to price to get it sorted whatever route he wanted to take with it.

Everyone blamed caldwell but tbf price was better than he was against thompson and teper. Theres only so much you can do with price. I actually think telling people what he did was better for price than just saying something like hes not got it. Not good enough etc. Which is probably the case anyway.

Everyone did try and point the finger at penfold saying he never had price fit. Think it was fair game to decend himself also dont think it hurts price either. Just the truth of the situation price is in.
