Its old news for those who follow Joshua closely and those who were THERE that day. A lot of posters here just started watching Joshua.

In the sparring session, Price was catching Joshua a lot with flush counter rights. Before Joshua got knocked out he was wobbled like he was against Whyte. After awhile Price knocked him out after a accumilation of David Price right hands.

Joshua can not deny this because others that were there that day will then look up at Joshua as a liar. So thats why you never hear Joshua commenting on it and plenty about from Price.

Styles can trouble some fighters and that was probably the case for Joshua way back then. A valuable lesson which I think Joshua benefitted from and Price not so much at all. Joshua DOESNT have the greatest jaw, lets face it. The clip isnt Price but reinforces my point.

Long standing rumor that Price got the better of him/KO'd him in sparring. Whether it's true or not doesn't matter. Price would get utterly annihilated today in a professional ring where the fight actually matters as you and I both know....

6ft 8in pro boxer hurts 21 y/o green amateur in sparring shocker..

This is all Price has to cling too, yes if he lands clean he has a punchers chance against any heavy weight but his chin has been exposed as one of if not the worst p4p in boxing. Joshua's skill set has clearly evolved greatly since then, Price must knows this and wants to cash out. Either man has knockout power but the odds are greatly stacked in Joshua's favour and if this takes place I give Price 2 rounds tops until he's face down drooling on the canvas.

Okay, think I might remember hearing about this at some point, but also wrote it off as something that didn't ever seem to be substantiated as more than just a rumor.

It has been going around for a couple of years or so, Price finally confirmed it was true in August this year.

The person who benefits from the rumor can't really "confirm" it.

    Irrelevant if true

It's sparring and many year, opponents, training camps and experience has passed since then.

Price is mentally shook. And Joshua is riding the crest of a wave.

You got to have an oversight of both fighters careers SINCE that sparring session. Joshua LEARNT that he doesnt possess a solid chin. Thats a huge benefit in the making of the man.

Joshua doesnt need to confirm it, there were others there.

Exactly. Greg Page reportedly KO'd Tyson in sparring. What do we think would have happened in an actual bout?

While it pays to have a granite chin - it's the heavyweight division and even the toughest get knocked.

If anything, Joshuas glassy jaw becoming a non-factor (or seemingly non-existant) is a credit to his good boxing through lessons learnt in the gym. If Joshua goes 30 or so fights undefeated with the public knowing of his disadvantage, it will only gain him more respect for his defensive ability and inspire others. The sweet science is to land without getting hit, and if he wins 30 fights straight, then hes not getting hit.

My problem with Joshua is not his jaw (Lennox Lewis had a glass jaw) its his crap rookie opponents. Price dropping him in sparring would make him an ideal opponent IF Price was a top 3 fighter. Price knows the route to the top, hes been in the game longer than AJ.

Glass jaw gets banded about too much.

Get hit by a 250lb guy whose been learning to punch his whole life and see how your jaw holds up.
