Fighting Darnel Wilson next month. Since prize fighter has beaten Zack Page again on points as well as Ahunanya on points, all of which are considerably better than anyone Price has beaten.
Indeed. It wasn't that long ago he smashed the next heavyweight superstar Stiff Mitchell to pieces only to get robbed as usual.
Agreed with Page getting robbed a lot, I didn't see (I don't think) the Mitchell fight so couldn't comment. Does have a misleading record, he is better than it suggests.
It is far to early to be sure on Price, he's doing everything right, but we need to see him in with a big puncher.
I've not been overly impressed and even last time out i wasn't taken by the performance. I think John lost that fight himself and he knew it as he banged canvas in frustration. Sexton's a decent test because he's a decent boxer.
I'm in no way a Price fan but saying that Page, or a 40 year old has been coming off the back of three defeats is better than Fatty McD is just wrong.
Wladimir Klitschko was just a week ago using Zack Page as one of his main sparring partners, sometimes tells me that the heavyweight champion of the World wont be calling up Mc Doughnut any time soon offering him any work.
It looks good on paper have to see it so time will tell, Price has been sparked a few times in the amateurs. When Helenius beat Brewster and Levin i thought he would be a world champ yet he got worse so same thing could happen with Price as he hasnt even fought a euro level guy yet.
Great idea :good Well it was impressive in terms of stopping him, Mormeck went into saturday night coming off a SD win over Timur. Punches change fights as we know and it was a decent contest and he caught him and made him pay that's HW boxing all over. He's decent nothing special and will struggle against top level fighters and likes of Chisora but he carries power due to his background. He doesn't have bad skills he's not atrocious and could get better but i think he's pretty basic.
Big John blows hot and cold, and he was very cold that night. He didn't have any desire or confidence in himself, other than to land a big shot early and turn it. Against Fury he was happy to wait for his opportunities to get in and work and he did much better. You judge fighters on solid tests they come through, not one round blow outs. Matt Skelton was the last guy to starch John McDermott inside a round and Skelton was unbeaten back then, much like Price. It doesn't take much for heavies to fall from grace. I hope Sexton takes him into the late rounds, and gets to him a bit. Just so we can all have a proper look at Price, what he does when things aren't going his way, how he reacts to a good shot or sustained pressure etc.
