http://www.*****.net/2012/10/david-price-to-fight-matt-skelton-on.html Is this a proper step up for David Price? Is Matt Skelton is better opponent then Audley Harrison? What next for David Price after Matt Skelton fight?
he is not more skilled than audley..audley is actually a talented boxer..however he isnt a fighter and has not found a way to get past that hence why he is such a let down..skelton will at least try and fight but the result will be the same win via ko.. not really a step up.but at least hes staying busy and gaining experiance
No, it's not a step up at all but it's a pretty quick turnaround. It's not like he waited until April to make the fight. So long as he stays busy - and fights again in April - i've no problem with this as as work out.
Good points itsa. I agree that it's a decent fight against a decent fighter. Skelton is old as ****, but it's a fact that he don't lose except to Blevel fighters or better.:good Good stay busy fight at least.:thumbsup
I don't know if Skelton is a step up or not, he's on a similar level to Harrison. Harrison has more talent and is younger than Skelton but Skelton will come to fight more than Harrison does. The good thing about this possible fight, for Price, is that its only 6 weeks or so after the Harrison match up. Price is already 29 and only has 13 fights, he needs all the fights and rounds that he can get.
I quite enjoyed his performance against Tom Dallas, even if Tom resembled anything but a fighter. Probably not a step up from Audley though no.
This is what it comes down to. 13 fights. I'd rather he took a second fight in December like this and maintain that kind of activity than pull a Povetkin and go after a title shot fast and then have my whole team realise how few fights I've had and have a panic attack. Activity is not the enemy. These modern guys don't fight enough and end up in long training camps getting down to weight and shedding rust. It wouldn't happen if they were taking smaller fights in between their step-ups or their big fights, depending on where their career is at. Like Volo, I give a **** less if he's fighting Wach. I'd rather see him fight Wach than stay inactive until he has a big fight coming up and get into a tune-up/negotiations fiasco like Haye/Chisora/Volo was. Nobody is happy in those situations. Everyone should be fighting more, and spending less time in training camps "getting in shape". What was I talking about? Oh, yeah. Gandhi was a hypocrite. And his fashion sense was awful for a gay gent. Edit: Whoops, wrong thread.
