He'll fight someone British after Thompson (who is durable if little else) to win the Lonsdale outright. Chisora would be the only real option but I can see Maloney lining up someone terrible after a boatload of excuses. After those two fights he really should be looking at the Euro title but won't if Pulev still holds the belt. This could go one of two ways: he fights for a world title late this year after being offered a half decent deal from Wlad (unlikely) or fights for a world title in mid 2014 after someone relatively beatable like Fury becomes WBC champion.
Why rush? It's smart to take his time. At the moment he wouldn't stand a chance of beating the Klitschkos. He should take his time, get fights in against the lower guys like Thompson, Helenius and Fury before stepping up to the big two.
The guy has had 15 fights there's nothing wrong with him having 4 or 5 more fights before fighting one of the klits as long as the fights will give him the opportunity to gain experience and develop. How many fighters in history have challenged for the World Heavyweight title against the lineal champ within 20 fights? Wlad?...... no Vitali?..........no Lewis?............no Ali?........... I think the Liston fight was about #20 So why is Price getting abuse for not jumping in the ring with a guy with nearly 4 times as many ko wins as Price has had fights at such an early stage in his career?
I don't think he's that much better in every category. It all depends on prices chin, if it's half decent he has a good chance because wlad can'ttake one punch from price , not one.
Wach had wlad on ***** street with the only decent shot he landed. Every time he's hit, it hurts him, badly. The man has an absolute 100% glass chin, one of the worst in the history of boxing, and if price lands on it, he's out. And I don't even like price
People think because wlad has spent years bashing up fighters too small and scared to hit him, that he'ssome unstoppable force. He's not, he's still the guy with the glass chin that corrie Sanders steamrolled. If he hangs around much longer one of these big, hungry up and comers is going to tag him, and after that we can have a talk about how "great" he really was, and how much of it was smoke and mirrors, now **** off.
Price's chin isn't all that good imo, which can be seen when he got ko'ed by Roberto Cammarelle, and got dropped by a few others. I know some fighters can get dropped and ko'ed as amateurs, when they are young undeveloped fighters and go on to show sturdy chins in the pro's. Teak tough fighters like Tua and Bowe got starched in the unpaid ranks for example. But it was wasn't as if Price was a young buck when he was getting dropped and stopped. He was 24 or 25 against Cammerelle. And there's only so much work you can do to improve your chin. If Wlad hit Price cleanly with that right hand of his, he'd spark him.
