WBA super welterweight champion Austin Trout won a twelve round unanimous decision over David “The Destroyer” Lopez to retain his title on Saturday night at the Auditorio Miguel Barragan in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Scores were 119-109, 117-110 and 118-109, all in favor of Trout.

David Lopez deserved to win a title, but not this one. Trout is on the way up and he's on the way down. didn't get to watch the fight, but Trout won easily and knocked Lopez down in the 11th.

I want to see Trout vs. Vanes! holy ****.

Ah, ****..no. I was thinking about Rigoberto Alvarez. :patsch (the previous guy to be beaten by Trout in a WBA title bout, a few months back).

Yeah, Destroyer had been on a legitimately good run. :good He's also a much, much better fighter than Rigo (even over the hill). Can't believe I mixed 'em up.

Damn! Trout seems to be pretty damn good, Lopez is no pushover....was this bout televised on anything? I'd love to see more video of Trout, seems to climbing his way to legit contender and beltholder

Good win for Trout, he has to be taken pretty seriously now. Lopez is a solid top ten guy who had been on a nice run and is better than his record indicates. For Trout to beat him handily is a good result.

I agree, looking forward to see him mix it up with some of the more known fighters at 154.
